Wahoo! You have a list! And it’s an awesome list! I’ll tell you what I think of the names, and, if you’re thinking of having more kiddos in the future, I thought I’d try and see which I like with your boy taste best ([name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] and [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] for now):
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] - I think [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] is sorely underused. She’s sort of an “every-girl” name in that she’s so wearable. She’s perky and fun, but also elegant and understated. I love this name.
[name_f]Bridget[/name_f] - Again, another name you don’t hear too often, but why? It’s a fun, spunky name that still sounds grown-up, so I like that. Plus, although she’s totally nickname-proof if that’s how you want to go, she can also be [name_f]Bee[/name_f], [name_f]Bebe[/name_f], [name_f]Brie[/name_f], [name_f]Bridie[/name_f], or [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] if you like any of that stuff. I like this name.
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]/[name_f]Celia[/name_f] - I prefer the spelling [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] personally, and if you hate [name_f]Cece[/name_f] as a nickname, it is avoidable. I know one who goes exclusively by [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f]! Or, call her your intended nickname of [name_f]Celia[/name_f]. There are more nicknames than just [name_f]Cece[/name_f] and [name_f]Celia[/name_f], of course, such as [name_f]Celie[/name_f], [name_f]Ciel[/name_f], or [name_f]Lia[/name_f], but pick your favorite. This is a classic that you don’t hear everyday, and it’s very pleasant and strong. I like this name.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] - A name that has been on and off my own list since I loved it as a little girl, I think [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is very appealing. She can sound a little stuffy, I guess, but I think her rising use is shaking that prim image. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is a pretty, compact name with style and sophistication. I like this name.
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] - I think [name_f]Clara[/name_f] can present some pronunciation issues (will it rhyme with [name_f]Claire[/name_f] or with [name_f]Zara[/name_f]?), but it’s romantic and sweet and has more personality than [name_f]Claire[/name_f]/[name_u]Clare[/name_u]/[name_u]Clair[/name_u], in my opinion. Another underused vintage name, compared to cousin [name_f]Claire[/name_f], this one is ripe for the using. I like this name.
[name_f]Eleanor[/name_f]/[name_f]Nora[/name_f] - I have never cared for [name_f]Nora[/name_f] (blame bad associations), and I do honestly find [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_f]Nora[/name_f] rather bland. However, [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] is one of those firm classics that you can’t really mess up with. I do just think she lacks some spunk, which is something I look for in a name, personally. I’m marginal on this name.
[name_f]Elsa[/name_f] - A sweet [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] diminutive that hasn’t gotten due attention until now, especially with Frozen! [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] is proper and staid, but she’s also slightly cozy and feminine. I really like both sides of the name, and think she’s easy to wear and much more fun, and less like a nickname, than [name_f]Ella[/name_f]. I like this name.
[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] - I had a friend name her just-a-year-old baby girl [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] last year, and I was iffy on it (I wanted her to use [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] or [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]). However, seeing that baby with this name has made it grow on me. I think [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] has the potential to be rather stuffy, middle-aged, and prim, but Ev- names are on the rise, so [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] is bound to feel more “now.” I am marginal on this name.
[name_f]Felicity[/name_f] - This is just one name, sort of like [name_f]Nora[/name_f], that I don’t think I’ll ever get behind. I in general am very picky with virtue names, but I don’t find [name_f]Felicity[/name_f] to have an attractive sound to my ear, and it’s just long. I’m marginal-negative on this name.
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] - This one is romantic yet user-friendly. Plus, if you wanted, [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] can be used in full or shortened to a number of pleasing nicknames. I like this name.
[name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] - I think we’re finally getting out of the I’m-so-sick-of-[name_f]Madeline[/name_f] phase of naming and can re-appreciate how truly beautiful [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] is. She’s sweet and proper but still fun and youthful. I like this name.
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f] - This is a comfy, feminine, and sweet name, but she lacks a little bit in the sophisticated elegance domain. I find [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] to be harsher than some longer ends-in-A names, because of that heavy T consonant, but overall she has a warm image. I am marginal-positive on this name.
[name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] - Romantic, princess-like, charming, and feminine. That about sums up this one. I wonder if it goes a little too far, whereas I’d prefer [name_f]Fiona[/name_f] in her place, but [name_f]Ophelia[/name_f] has an attractive sound and plays into the [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] princess craze of now. I’m marginal-positive on this name.
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] - [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] will never win me over from similar-ish [name_f]Phoebe[/name_f], which I adore, but she’s versatile and fun. I like how you can go with [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] in full, or shorten that to fit just about any personality ([name_u]Penny[/name_u], [name_f]Nell[/name_f], [name_f]Nellie[/name_f], [name_f]Poppy[/name_f], [name_u]Pen[/name_u], [name_u]Peri[/name_u]). It’s a grown-up name that works for girls of all ages. I like this name.
[name_f]Susanna[/name_f]/[name_f]Susannah[/name_f] - I’m really thinking this name needs to come back into use. I’ll admit that I’m really not a fan of [name_f]Susan[/name_f], and it’s probably because I find [name_f]Sue[/name_f] ridiculously unappealing (sorry to all you ladies named [name_f]Sue[/name_f]!), but I actually quite like the warm, comfy, cozy, feminine image of [name_f]Susanna/name_f. She’s lovely in full, she means “lily,” and she can be shortened to so many more things than just [name_f]Susie[/name_f] ([name_f]Sosie[/name_f], [name_f]Annie[/name_f], [name_f]Anna[/name_f], [name_u]Sunny[/name_u], etc.) if you like a nickname. Or not, if you don’t. Today I’ll say I like [name_f]Susanna[/name_f], as this was [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m]'s daughter’s name, but I like the advice about using the H if it looks better with your last name. I like this name. Maybe love…
[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] - I’ll admit I think [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] is a lot of fun, but that said, she just feels a little too young and playful to me! I like the possible nicknames of [name_f]Tula[/name_f] and [name_f]Lula[/name_f], but for a tot. I’m marginal-negative on this name.
I realize I only said I loved one name, which probably isn’t really accurate (even though I do think [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] is divine!). [name_m]Just[/name_m] going off the names, my favorites are [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], [name_f]Bridget[/name_f], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Clara[/name_f], [name_f]Elsa[/name_f], [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f], and [name_f]Susanna/name_f. However, taking into consideration that a possible brother might be [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] or [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] (or thus similarly named), I’d say the names I like best with those are (1) [name_f]Susanna/name_f, (2) [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], (3) [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], and (4) it pains me to say it, [name_f]Felicity[/name_f].
Good luck!
PS Because you do have such a long list of so many great family names, I think it would be well worth your and your husband’s time to think about (1) if you want to honor family in the middle, (2) who is most important for you to honor with this baby’s name, and (3) if you want to use the person’s exact name or a different way to honor them (e.g., name variant [[name_f]Elspeth[/name_f] for [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], for example, or [name_f]Catriona[/name_f] for [name_f]Catherine[/name_f]], birth flower, birth stone, etc.).
