Thessaly?

Does anyone know how to pronounce the name [name_f]Thessaly[/name_f]? I’ve always assumed that the H was silent, but I’m not sure,

I would say it Th-ES-uh-lee

Yep, pretty sure this is how it’s said in [name_m]Shakespeare[/name_m].

So, like Thess-uh-lee? three syllables or four?

I think it rhymes with [name_f]Cecily[/name_f].

I first heard [name_f]Thessaly[/name_f]/Thessalie in [name_m]French[/name_m], where it was said with a hard ‘T’ sound like ‘[name_f]Tess[/name_f]-uh-ly’ but in English it makes sense to say ‘Thess-uh-ly’
