Think I'm getting closer.

I’ve posted a few times and I appreciate the help everyone has given me. I have two names that my husband and I agree on. We both like [name]Sloane[/name], and [name]Sky[/name]. We like [name]Sky[/name] because she will be born during the summer. I also like the name [name]Sanaa[/name] but he does not. He loves the name [name]Desiree[/name] because of the meaning desire. We have wanted a girl so bad. We have 4 boys together. [name]Jalen[/name] [name]Timothy[/name], [name]Devin[/name] [name]Joseph[/name], [name]Cameron[/name] [name]Isaiah[/name], [name]London[/name] [name]Elijah[/name]. What do you think of the names [name]Sloane[/name] [name]Desiree[/name], [name]Sky[/name] [name]Desiree[/name]and [name]Sanaa[/name] [name]Desiree[/name]. [name]Do[/name] you know any other names that have the same or similar meaning as [name]Desiree[/name]`. Thanks again.

I really like [name]Sky[/name] [name]Desiree[/name] for you! I prefer [name]Sky[/name] spelled [name]Skye[/name], though they’re both nice. I think [name]Sky[/name] is the best name with your boys because it’s clearly feminine and your boys have unisex names, so it separates them. [name]Sloane[/name] is also a boys name, (I happen to like it better on a boy personally,) so I would want to avoid gender confusion. [name]Just[/name] my thoughts! Good luck!

Sorry I’m not a fan of [name]Desiree[/name]! I suppose it does have a pretty sound but it will always sound like a stripper name to me!

[name]Delilah[/name] means desirable
[name]Miriam[/name] means wished for child
[name]Manon[/name] (in Welsh means longed for child)
[name]Evelyn[/name] means desired
[name]Desi[/name] - shortened form of [name]Desiree[/name], much cuter!

Of your first name choices, I really really really love [name]Sanaa[/name]!! It’s gorgeous and to me, it stands out way above [name]Sky[/name] and [name]Sloane[/name]. I’m a bit of a hippie at heart but I still can’t get on board with names like [name]Sky[/name] which to me have no substance and won’t age well or move into the working world well. Can you imagine a Dr [name]Sky[/name] or a Grandma [name]Sky[/name]? Lol. Maybe it’s just me!

[name]Sloane[/name] is too boyish to me and there’s something about the sound I really hate. It makes me think of words like slug, lone, etc.

I think [name]Sanaa[/name] [name]Miriam[/name], [name]Sanaa[/name] [name]Evelyn[/name] or [name]Sanaa[/name] [name]Delilah[/name] would be beautiful

Best of luck!

I like [name]Sky[/name] [name]Desiree[/name]. But is there a reason you’re putting an apostrophe after [name]Desiree[/name]? It means the same thing without it, and frankly I think the apostrophe cheapens the name.

Good luck!

I like [name]Sloane[/name] better but with all the big brothers, I think [name]Sky[/name] might work better for a girl. I prefer [name]Skye[/name] spelling but it’s just my opinion. [name]Desiree[/name] has always seemed kind of trashy to me (sorry), and too sensual. Names with similar meaning:
[name]Skye[/name] [name]Aimee[/name] (loved)
[name]Skye[/name] [name]Amanda[/name] (lovable)
[name]Skye[/name] [name]Carita[/name] (dear one)
[name]Skye[/name] [name]Kerensa[/name] (love)
[name]Sloane[/name] [name]Asha[/name] (wish, desire, hope)

Good luck!

When I think of [name]Sloane[/name], I immediately think it’s a boy’s name. [name]Skye[/name] feels much more feminine to me.

[name]Desiree[/name] is fine for a middle name. While some people may think its low class or trashy, this isn’t going to be your daughter’s first name, so I really don’t see a problem with it at all. Other names with the same meaning are that I don’t recall seeing listed already are:

Four boys and now a girl? Congratulations!! I think your daughter should have a clearly feminine name amongst all her brothers, but that’s just my two cents. In addition to [name]Desiree[/name] as a mn option, another name with a related meaning is [name]Abigail[/name] (father’s joy… not just desire, but fulfilled desire). [name]Letitia[/name] also means joy.

Congrats on the babt girl! With four older brothers I think she would have a clearly feminine name. [name]Sloane[/name] sounds too masculine. [name]Sky[/name] is okay, but I prefer [name]Skye[/name], as it looks more like a name imo. I have to agree with the previous posters, [name]Desiree[/name] sounds kinda cheap and trashy imo. My favorite off your list is [name]Sky[/name].

Others you might like:
[name]Abigail[/name]- means “fathers joy”
[name]Kalea[/name]- means “joy or happiness”
[name]Soleil[/name]- means sun in french. prn So-lay
Sunniva- means “sun gift”

Are you wanting an S name? Here are some suggestions:

Thanks everyone for your help. Well I have some new names and combos, please tell me what you think. My last name rhymes with [name]Teagan[/name].
[name]Sloane[/name] [name]Raquel[/name], [name]Sloane[/name] [name]Renee[/name], [name]Sloane[/name] [name]Desiree[/name]
[name]Gabrielle[/name] [name]Skye[/name], [name]Briar[/name] [name]Skye[/name], [name]Malena[/name] [name]Skye[/name], [name]Ariel[/name] [name]Skye[/name]
[name]Skye[/name] [name]Renee[/name], [name]Skye[/name] [name]Raquel[/name], [name]Skye[/name] [name]Malena[/name] [name]Lauren[/name] [name]Sky[/name], [name]Lauren[/name] [name]Briar[/name] [name]Bryony[/name] [name]Renee[/name], [name]Bryony[/name] [name]Skye[/name], [name]Bryony[/name] [name]Raquel[/name]

i like sky.
and can some people please help me choose a name,
i have a post up

[name]Gabrielle[/name] [name]Skye[/name], [name]Lauren[/name] [name]Skye[/name] are my fave. I personally love the name [name]Lauren[/name]. It’s simple but has an elegance to it and I plan on having a little [name]Lauren[/name] some day(nn Lo).

[name]Gabrielle[/name] [name]Skye[/name] is my favorite off your list. [name]Malena[/name] [name]Skye[/name] would be my second choice. I like the idea of using [name]Skye[/name] as a mn. It kinda lacks substance as a fn, but it makes a really great mn.

I like [name]Malena[/name] [name]Skye[/name] from this list. But seriously what’s with the apostrophes? Does anyone have an answer for this?

I like [name]Skye[/name] [name]Renee[/name] and [name]Ariel[/name] [name]Skye[/name]!

I like [name]Skye[/name] [name]Renee[/name] and [name]Ariel[/name] [name]Skye[/name]!

OK I have narrowed it down to four [name]Kendall[/name] [name]Skye[/name], [name]Morgan[/name] [name]Raquel[/name], [name]Morgan[/name] [name]Skye[/name], or [name]Skye[/name] [name]Raquel[/name]. I like [name]Kendall[/name] more than [name]Morgan[/name] and my husband like [name]Morgan[/name] more. So what do you think??? Thanx again!!!

I honestly dont like either [name]Kendall[/name] or [name]Morgan[/name]. [name]Morgan[/name] is very very masculine in sound. I dont think naming her [name]Morgan[/name] with four older brothers would do anything to help her stand out as the only girl. [name]Kendall[/name] is just too tryndee for my taste and all I hear is “[name]Ken[/name] doll” when I say it. But, I understand you may not share my taste, so for what is it worth out of the two names [name]Kendall[/name] would be a better choice imo. [name]Kendall[/name] [name]Skye[/name] gets my vote. [name]Skye[/name] as a fn feels a little flimsy imo.

I think she’s trying to make the “l’accent aigu” accent that is used in the French alphabet on some Es: laiss”e, ”paule, etc.
