thinking about simple names

I’m really loving simple names right now, not boring but where the coolness of the name kinda sneaks up on you ;). For boys I have [name]Jack[/name] and [name]Clark[/name] swoon picked out.
I’m curious what you all think about my girl names and if you have any suggestions for middle names?

[name]Rose[/name]
[name]Belle[/name]
[name]Jane[/name]
[name]Lia[/name]
[name]Kate[/name]

I like names like this!

[name]Rose[/name] – This one just doesn’t appeal to me for some reason, but I can see why it appeals to others!
[name]Belle[/name] – I [name]LOVE[/name] this name! So pretty and simple and it looks so nice in print.
[name]Jane[/name] – I used to think of this name as plain, but after reading [name]Jane[/name] [name]Eyre[/name], my opinion changed dramatically. I really like the name now.
[name]Lia[/name] – I prefer the traditional [name]Leah[/name] spelling. This name is pretty.
[name]Kate[/name] – A pretty and spunky name.

Some other good options would be [name]Claire[/name] and [name]Tess[/name].

[name]Rose[/name]- I like the simplicity, and for any girl who doesn’t fit the quiet [name]Rose[/name] can be the spunky [name]Rosie[/name].
[name]Belle[/name]- NMS, seems cutesy to me.
[name]Jane[/name]- I once thought this was plain, but I can now see the appeal. I probably wouldn’t use it though.
[name]Lia[/name]- I like this better than the [name]Leah[/name] spelling- just [name]IMO[/name], I’m weird. I do prefer [name]Leia[/name] (lay-uh; like from [name]Star[/name] Wars) better than both.
[name]Kate[/name]- Strong and spunky

I would do something at least three syllables with the one syllable names- especially one that ends with -a or -ee.

[name]Kate[/name] [name]Oriana[/name]
[name]Kate[/name] [name]Aurelia[/name]

FN suggestions:

[name]Eve[/name]- I’m falling in love with this name. Simple and delicate, but powerful.
[name]Mei[/name]- prn [name]May[/name], this is a different name of [name]Asian[/name] roots.
[name]Blair[/name]
[name]Ella[/name]- bit too popular, though
[name]Emma[/name]- just like [name]Ella[/name]
[name]Eva[/name]
[name]Mia[/name]
[name]Amy[/name]
[name]Maeve[/name]
[name]Zoe[/name]
[name]Chloe[/name]
[name]Grey[/name] (a bit too masculine for my tastes, but works on either gender)
[name]June[/name]
[name]Kaia[/name]/[name]Kaya[/name]/[name]Kaiya[/name]
[name]Mio[/name]
[name]Hana[/name] (hawn-uh not [name]Hanne[/name]-uh)
[name]Kira[/name]
[name]Leigh[/name]
[name]Jade[/name]
[name]Yasmin[/name]

[name]Kate[/name] / [name]Cate[/name], [name]Lia[/name], [name]Jane[/name] and [name]Belle[/name] are my favs. [name]Rose[/name] is lovely, but I am more drawn to it in longer forms. [name]Claire[/name] is another simple fav of mine. I would give more complex middles, personally, since that’s my style. [name]Jane[/name] [name]Francesca[/name] was on my list for a while. [name]Lia[/name] is my favorite form of the name, glad to see others like it.

I prefer [name]Leah[/name] (then, love!). And I actually like the others too. [name]Kate[/name] would probably be my least fav.

Wow I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Jane[/name] [name]Francesca[/name], that’s beautiful! And also adding [name]Grey[/name] and [name]Clair[/name] to my list 100%. Thanks!!

[name]Rose[/name], [name]Gina[/name], [name]Aida[/name], [name]Eve[/name], [name]Marie[/name], [name]Noelle[/name], [name]Louise[/name].

[name]Rose[/name] is great. I love that it’s so classic and elegant, yet it’s so unheard of as a first name nowadays. [name]Belle[/name] and [name]Kate[/name] are also nice. I have good associations with both, so that only boosts them in my mind. [name]Jane[/name] and [name]Lia[/name] aren’t my favorites. With [name]Jane[/name] I just think of the phrase “plain [name]Jane[/name],” although I can tolerate it. [name]Lia[/name] I’ve never liked and I can’t quite put my finger on why. It kind of sounds whiny. However, I do prefer the spelling [name]Leah[/name]. It just looks more complete.
