Hello, all! My husband and I are expecting our first children, twin girls, due in [name_f]February[/name_f]. Names were a topic we weren’t much focusing on and a I stumbled upon Nameberry. After a few days of watching the forums I thought I’d get my own help here. You all seem so nice!
The husband and I so far have only a few names that we like, but we’d be grateful to have some more suggestions, hopefully some that we can love rather than like! Right now we like [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f], [name_f]Stella[/name_f] and [name_f]Nina[/name_f]. We also quite like the name [name_f]Star[/name_f]… However we do not think it’s quite an appropriate name. Please suggest what you think we’d love! Thanks in advance.
[name_f]Stella[/name_f], [name_f]Estella[/name_f]/[name_f]Estelle[/name_f], [name_u]Seren[/name_u], [name_f]Esther[/name_f], and [name_f]Roxanna[/name_f] all mean star, so one could be a good choice for you if you like [name_f]Star[/name_f] but don’t want to take that plunge. [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] has always had a star association for me because of it’s heavenly and astronomical meaning ([name_f]Celestial[/name_f]). You could also use it as a middle for [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. I actually quite like [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Star[/name_f], it gives a very popular name a little je-ne-sais-pas!
If it’s more the sound of [name_f]Star[/name_f] that you like, you could go with [name_f]Briar[/name_f], [name_f]Lark[/name_f], or [name_f]Mara[/name_f], which all have that -ar sound.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] go together, but they are both extremely popular. I would choose one or the other, but not both, because that would look unoriginal like you just chose whatever everyone else was choosing.
I like the name [name_f]Star[/name_f], but more because of what it represents… faith, hope, success, fortune.
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] ([name_f]Isabelle[/name_f] is also popular but the fact that it has more presence than [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] goes with [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] really well would make it look like you chose popular but stylish names)
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Frances[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] (you could probably get ‘[name_f]Nina[/name_f]’ as a nickname for [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], I’d use it!)
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Antonia[/name_f] ([name_f]Nina[/name_f] is actually a nickname for this)
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Hope[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Faith[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] and [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Jane[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Hope[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Faith[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Felicity[/name_f]
I love [name_f]Stella[/name_f] and [name_f]Nina[/name_f], but [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] are a bit popular right now. I too also see the appeal of [name_f]Star[/name_f].
Perhaps you’d like some of these? I find myself thinking of them when I hear [name_f]Stella[/name_f], [name_f]Nina[/name_f], [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] or [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]:
If you like [name_f]Star[/name_f] but don’t find it appropriate as a first name, you could always use it on the middle, or seek out a name meaning star or that has celestial connotation.
Other names you may like:
[name_f]Estelle[/name_f] or [name_f]Estella[/name_f] (repeat)
[name_f]Aster[/name_f]
[name_f]Ceres[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Scarlett[/name_f]
[name_f]Abigail[/name_f]
[name_f]Nerine[/name_f]
[name_f]Analise[/name_f]
[name_f]Celeste[/name_f] (repeat)
[name_f]Nova[/name_f]
[name_f]Andromeda[/name_f]
Liliette
[name_f]Selene[/name_f] or [name_f]Selena[/name_f]
[name_f]Aurora[/name_f]
[name_f]Margot[/name_f]
[name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Nadine[/name_f]
Of the names already on your list, [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] pair nicely.
I agree with others, you can always have a [name_f]Stella[/name_f] (or [name_f]Estelle[/name_f], [name_f]Esther[/name_f], [name_u]Seren[/name_u] and other star-related names) and nicknamed her [name_f]Star[/name_f].
