My favorite name for a boy is Alec, but I haven’t used it yet.
My other boys are named Cal (legal name Caleb, but never called that) and Zachary, sometimes Zach.
My question: is Alec too much of a combination of Cal and Zach? Also, does it matter that there isn’t really a nickname? (Except Al, but Cal and Al is a no for me).
Cal, Zachary, Alec — how do they sound to you as a sibset?
We are three weeks out from third baby and are having a lot of naming angst! We keep on settling one and then backtracking. Our latest pick with Everett “Rhett” but we are having second thoughts.
Would [name_m]Alec[/name_m] with legal name [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] be an option to you? That would go well with his brother’s names. But [name_m]Alec[/name_m] as the full name is also fine
I love [name_m]Alec[/name_m]! It’s one of my favorites because it’s so dashing, well-known, yet underused. I prefer it as a nickname for [name_m]Alexander[/name_m], though.
With [name_u]Cal[/name_u] and [name_m]Zachary[/name_m], I think it works!
[name_u]Cal[/name_u] and [name_m]Alec[/name_m] do feel a bit too close for me, but not unforgivably so. I do like the idea of [name_m]Alec[/name_m] as a nickname for [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] or maybe [name_m]Alistair[/name_m]?
I have a set of 4 male cousins and the 3rd is [name_m]Alec[/name_m] ! I love the name myself . It suits him so well.
I think [name_u]Cal[/name_u] , [name_m]Zach[/name_m] and [name_m]Alec[/name_m] are handsome together ! If you feel like a nickname , maybe [name_u]Ace[/name_u] ?
