My husband and I are expecting our third boy in a couple months. We always have a hard time agreeing on names and this time around has been the most difficult. I really like [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] (middle name [name_m]Pierce[/name_m]) but my husband isn’t too sure. He’s worried everyone will shorten it to [name_m]Ben[/name_m], which neither of us would like. He prefers [name_m]Asher[/name_m] (no middle name picked out yet), but I’m not very excited about that one. Our oldest son is named [name_m]Grayson[/name_m] [name_m]Wright[/name_m] and our youngest (soon-to-be middle) son is [name_u]Parker[/name_u] [name_u]Chase[/name_u]. I would prefer to have a name with a different ending sound than the other two (-on, -en, -an, -er), but that still sounds good with them. I also don’t want anything too popular or too outrageous. I think [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] fits that perfectly, but, since I have to take hubbys opinion into account too, I’m wondering if anyone has any other suggestions.

I definitely wouldn’t pick a name that you dislike the shortened version. My mother has suffered with everyone calling her [name_m]Jonathan[/name_m], [name_m]Jon[/name_m] for 40 years. She still hates it!
I love the suggestion of [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m]. It sounds so good c with your other boys’ names and cannot be shortened. I think [name_m]Truett[/name_m] is a great pick too, as long as you like the nn [name_u]True[/name_u]. I think a name that ends in s or o is a good choice as well…

Great suggestions above! If you love [name_m]Bennett[/name_m], I would use it in the middle spot so that it can’t be shortened! I agree that it would probably be shortened to [name_m]Ben[/name_m] eventually. I don’t think [name_m]Asher[/name_m] matches the other names very well. I think you need another surname name to match your other names. So many cool surnames end in the same sounds as [name_m]Grayson[/name_m] and [name_u]Parker[/name_u] so many from my list wouldn’t have fit the criteria!
