This baby will NEVER have a name! HELP!

Ok this will be long…sorry!

I have a trend with my kids name I would like to keep going for our 3rd and last. Hubby doesn’t think we need to and we have not talked about baby names together yet.
I am 23 weeks along with my 3rd.
My daughters name is [name_f]Theresa[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f] short form [name_f]Tessa[/name_f]. She is named after both my grandmothers who have passed away…
My sons name is [name_m]Quinlan[/name_m] [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] [name_m]Stephen[/name_m] short form [name_u]Quinn[/name_u]. His middle names are from hubby’s best friend and brother who have both passed. [name_m]Quinlan[/name_m] my husband picked out and I loved that its not your average common name. Hubby wanted just [name_m]Matthew[/name_m] [name_m]Stephen[/name_m] but they are [name_m]BOTH[/name_m] wayyyyyy to common for me.
In case you didn’t notice…both my childrens short forms have 5 letters and there is a double letter. [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] and [name_u]Quinn[/name_u].
This is baby #3 and its a girl!!!
I would love a name that has a short version with 5 letters and double.
My great grandmother is 106 years old and still with us. Her name is [name_f]Minna[/name_f] which follows my trend but I do not like any of the long versions associated with it. ([name_f]Minerva[/name_f] or Whilemina). I like uncommon names and Im willing to try out new names that do not follow the trend (5 letters with a double) but I REALLY do want the name to have a short form so she can have a choice what she goes by when older.

here is my long list of girls names and im not stuck on any of them at the moment. Please feel free to comment on my list and suggest other names that are not common (not top 100 or maybe not even top 1000)

In no specific order of likeness…

[name_f]Minna[/name_f]…needs a long version
[name_f]Coraline[/name_f]… short form [name_f]Corra[/name_f]
[name_u]Larkin[/name_u]
[name_f]Briella[/name_f]…short form [name_f]Brie[/name_f] or [name_f]Ella[/name_f] which doesn’t follow my trend
[name_f]Kalli[/name_f]…needs a long version
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f]…My name is [name_f]Laura[/name_f] [name_f]Lynne[/name_f] so the [name_m]LY[/name_m] from [name_f]Lynne[/name_f] and the [name_m]RA[/name_m] from [name_f]Laura[/name_f]. I have loved this name since highschool and always envisioned [name_f]Love[/name_f] as the middle name.
[name_f]Lyla[/name_f]…see above ([name_f]Lyra[/name_f]) for information about my name…although not loved since highschool I do seem to like it now.
Laynne…pronounced [name_u]Lane[/name_u] and also derived from my name
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f]…needs a long version
[name_u]Sutton[/name_u]…oddly enough hubby and I use to live on [name_u]Sutton[/name_u] street when we first moved in together. lol
Kinlee or Kinleigh or [name_f]Kinley[/name_f] (although this spelling seems more masculine to me)
[name_f]Isabella[/name_f]…short form Izzey to follow my trend
[name_u]Addison[/name_u]…short form [name_f]Addie[/name_f]
[name_f]Adelynne[/name_f]…short form [name_f]Addie[/name_f] or [name_f]Lynne[/name_f]

And just in case you need more inspiration for the types of names I like I will include my boys name list even though I now know this baby is a girl.

[name_m]Wyatt[/name_m] (always loved it but hubby doesn’t like it. Makes him think if [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m] Earp)
[name_f]Kinley[/name_f]
[name_u]Hadley[/name_u]…short form haddy
Kalik…heard on a tv show not sure if its actually a name but I liked it
[name_u]Lyric[/name_u]
[name_u]Keegan[/name_u]
Kaven
[name_u]Brennan[/name_u]…short form [name_f]Brenn[/name_f]
[name_m]Bryson[/name_m]…short form [name_u]Bryce[/name_u]
[name_m]Kyler[/name_m]
[name_u]Blaine[/name_u]
[name_u]Tristan[/name_u]
[name_m]Kellen[/name_m]
[name_m]Landon[/name_m]
[name_u]Kasen[/name_u], or [name_m]Kason[/name_m], or [name_m]Kaysen[/name_m]
[name_u]Linden[/name_u]

For [name_f]Minna[/name_f], Magdalena, Marienne, [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f], [name_f]Marceline[/name_f], Macqueleine, [name_f]Mazarine[/name_f]

[name_f]Bella[/name_f]–[name_f]Mirabel[/name_f], [name_f]Isabel[/name_f], [name_f]Anabelle[/name_f]

[name_f]Calla[/name_f]–[name_f]Calista[/name_f]

With [name_f]Theresa[/name_f] nn [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] and [name_m]Quinlan[/name_m] nn [name_u]Quinn[/name_u], my favorite is definitely [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] nn [name_f]Addie[/name_f]. I think it goes beautifully with your other children’s names.

If you can find a name that follows the pattern, great, but I wouldn’t mangle names to make them fit. Adding useless extra letters to names like [name_u]Izzy[/name_u] and [name_f]Cora[/name_f] ruins them, in my opinion.

I notice in your boys list you like the nn [name_f]Brenn[/name_f]. That’s a girls name! [name_m]How[/name_m] would you feel about that on a girl? Or [name_f]Brynn[/name_f]/[name_u]Bryn[/name_u]? There’s [name_f]Brynna[/name_f] which is nicely unique.
[name_f]Minna[/name_f] - Hm, I’m not sure what you could name her other than [name_f]Minerva[/name_f] and [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f]. I really like [name_f]Minerva[/name_f] though! And [name_f]Minna[/name_f] is sweet, [name_f]Theresa[/name_f], [name_m]Quinlan[/name_m] and [name_f]Minerva[/name_f] are a great sibset!
[name_f]Coraline[/name_f] - I prefer [name_f]Cora[/name_f] to [name_f]Corra[/name_f].
[name_u]Larkin[/name_u] - sounds masculin to me. [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Lark[/name_f] or [name_u]Lyric[/name_u]?
[name_f]Briella[/name_f] - [name_f]Love[/name_f] this! [name_f]Brie[/name_f] and [name_f]Ella[/name_f] are sweet! You could use the nn [name_f]Bella[/name_f], but I don’t like that as much. Or Briea? Or [name_f]Bria[/name_f].
[name_f]Kalli[/name_f] - [name_f]Kaleigh[/name_f], [name_f]Calliope[/name_f] ([name_f]Calli[/name_f]), Sort of reminds me of [name_u]Cali[/name_u] as in [name_u]California[/name_u].
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f]/[name_f]Lyla[/name_f]: I don’t like either of these. They aren’t as classy as your older kids names. IMHO I don’t like the MN [name_f]Love[/name_f]. [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] [name_f]Love[/name_f] sounds like something a teenager would come up with, and although it’s nice that it has some of your name, maybe a bit too much of your name. I prefer [name_f]Lyla[/name_f] to [name_f]Lyra[/name_f].
Laynne - [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t like this either. [name_u]Lane[/name_u] is better, but reminds me of Lame.
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f] - [name_f]Gemima[/name_f] is my only idea, but she’s the syrup lady.
[name_u]Sutton[/name_u] - no nickname :frowning:
[name_f]Isabella[/name_f] - a fine name, but your other 2 are so unique! Izzey isn’t great. [name_u]Izzy[/name_u] is better. [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Bella[/name_f]? I don’t like [name_f]Bella[/name_f], but at least it’s better than Izzey.
[name_u]Addison[/name_u] - [name_f]Addie[/name_f] is sweet, [name_u]Addison[/name_u] not as much.
Addelynne - [name_f]Addie[/name_f] is sweet, [name_f]Lynne[/name_f] is your name! Use it in her MN, not FN. [name_f]Adelie[/name_f], [name_f]Adelia[/name_f], [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] are all other ideas. [name_f]Adelynn[/name_f].

A few ideas:
5 letter with doubles nicknames:
[name_u]Allie[/name_u] - [name_f]Alice[/name_f], [name_u]Allison[/name_u], [name_f]Alicia[/name_f], [name_f]Aliya[/name_f] anything. You get it. [name_f]Tessa[/name_f], [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] and [name_u]Allie[/name_u] is really cute!
[name_f]Ginny[/name_f] - [name_f]Tessa[/name_f], [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] and [name_f]Ginny[/name_f] is wonderful! [name_f]Ginevra[/name_f]? There are several other full names that would work too.
[name_f]Holly[/name_f] - Not as nickname-y, but [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] and [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] can both be full names, so why not. [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] could be a full name? Not sure of any others though. There must be some!
[name_u]Ollie[/name_u] - [name_f]Olivia[/name_f], [name_f]Olive[/name_f], [name_f]Olga[/name_f] ect.
[name_u]Penny[/name_u] - [name_f]Penelope[/name_f], [name_f]Persephone[/name_f]?
[name_f]Poppy[/name_f] - 3 p’s! But this could be full name on it’s own! [name_f]Tessa[/name_f], [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] and [name_f]Poppy[/name_f].
[name_f]Della[/name_f] - [name_f]Delilah[/name_f].
[name_f]Willa[/name_f] - [name_f]Tessa[/name_f], [name_u]Quinn[/name_u], and [name_f]Willa[/name_f]!
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f] - [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Eloise[/name_f], [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] ect. [name_f]Tessa[/name_f], [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] and [name_f]Ellie[/name_f] is sweet too!
[name_f]Ellen[/name_f] - not really a nickname
Hilly - [name_u]Hillary[/name_u] not sure what else.
[name_f]Bella[/name_f] - like every popular name works. [name_f]Isabella[/name_f], [name_f]Arabella[/name_f].

Top choices: [name_f]Minna[/name_f] and [name_f]Briella[/name_f].
Top of my suggestions: [name_u]Allie[/name_u], [name_f]Ginny[/name_f], and [name_f]Ellie[/name_f].

After [name_f]Minna[/name_f], [name_f]Gemma[/name_f] is my favorite from your list. [name_f]Jemima[/name_f] would be the only way I know to make it long. Other wise I love [name_f]Minna[/name_f] I’ve never heard it before! Is that her full name or is it a NN?

I love how [name_f]Minna[/name_f] honours your great grandmother.

For a longer version, what about:
[name_f]Araminta[/name_f] - my favourite one for you
[name_f]Jasmine[/name_f]
Minuette
Carmindy

For [name_f]Kalli[/name_f] there’s always [name_f]Kallista[/name_f].

I love [name_f]Minna[/name_f]! Could be short for:

[name_f]Araminta[/name_f]
[name_f]Aminta[/name_f]
[name_u]Dominique[/name_u]
[name_f]Jasmine[/name_f]

I also like the suggestion of [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] nn [name_f]Addie[/name_f]. You could also try [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], [name_f]Adele[/name_f], [name_f]Adela[/name_f]…

If you don’t want popular names, I’d suggest getting rid of [name_f]Kinley[/name_f] and its variants, [name_f]Isabella[/name_f], [name_u]Addison[/name_u] and its variants, [name_f]Adeline[/name_f] and its variants [name_f]Lyla[/name_f] and [name_f]Briella[/name_f].

I tried to come up with the most out of the box ones I could think of:

[name_f]Minna[/name_f]: [name_u]Carmin[/name_u], [name_f]Minerva[/name_f], [name_f]Minette[/name_f], [name_f]Mignonette[/name_f], Marionette, [name_u]Marion[/name_u]/[name_u]Marian[/name_u], [name_f]Minuet[/name_f],
[name_f]Coraline[/name_f]… short form [name_f]Corra[/name_f]
[name_u]Larkin[/name_u]
[name_f]Kalli[/name_f] (if you’d change it to [name_f]Calli[/name_f] or [name_f]Calie[/name_f]): [name_f]Calida[/name_f], [name_u]California[/name_u], [name_f]Calais[/name_f], [name_f]Calandre[/name_f], [name_f]Calantha[/name_f], Calphurnia/Calpurnia, [name_f]Caledonia[/name_f], [name_f]Calliope[/name_f], [name_u]Calypso[/name_u], [name_f]Callisto[/name_f]/[name_f]Callista[/name_f]
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f] (I love this one…maybe as a nickname): [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]
[name_f]Gemma[/name_f]: [name_f]Imogen[/name_f], [name_u]Gemini[/name_u]

I vote for [name_f]Minna[/name_f] – that’s a wonderful honour name for your aging grandmother. It’s a beautiful name too!

Annie - Anastasia*, Annabelle/Annabel/Annabella, Annora/Honora, Annalee

*My favorites

[name_f]Hermione[/name_f] could also get you to [name_f]Minna[/name_f].

I have to agree with another poster that said it’s not a good idea to butcher some common nicknames just to fit your theme.

That being said, I love the idea of [name_f]Minna[/name_f] and I was going to suggest [name_f]Araminta[/name_f]! I think that’s perfect. I also think no matter what you choose, you should use [name_f]Lyra[/name_f] as the middle name. I have always thought that name was beautiful and I love the meaning behind it. I also really love the suggestion of [name_f]Callista[/name_f] nn [name_f]Calla[/name_f].

Other ideas (sorry for repeats):
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] nn Immie or [name_f]Genna[/name_f]/[name_f]Genny[/name_f]

[name_f]Mallory[/name_f] nn [name_f]Mally[/name_f]

[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] or [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] nn [name_f]Lizzy[/name_f]
[name_f]Philippa[/name_f] nn [name_f]Pippa[/name_f]

[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]/[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] nn [name_f]Milly[/name_f]
[name_f]Susanna[/name_f] nn [name_f]Zanna[/name_f]

I forgot to add the my great aunts name is [name_f]Manilla[/name_f] could be used to get [name_f]Minna[/name_f]

[name_f]Katherine[/name_f] nn [name_f]Kitty[/name_f]

[name_f]Elly[/name_f] shortened from [name_f]Ellen[/name_f], [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f], [name_f]Elodie[/name_f], [name_f]Eloise[/name_f]

[name_f]Tessa[/name_f], [name_u]Quinn[/name_u], and [name_f]Elly[/name_f]…cute sib set, [name_f]IMO[/name_f]!

For nn [name_f]Minna[/name_f], how about:
[name_f]Arminta[/name_f] or [name_f]Amina[/name_f]
[name_u]Dominique[/name_u]
[name_f]Karmina[/name_f]
[name_f]Jasmina[/name_f] or [name_f]Yasmina[/name_f]
[name_f]Melina[/name_f], [name_f]Melinda[/name_f] or [name_f]Michelina[/name_f]

Another vote for [name_f]Minna[/name_f]. I personally [name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] but also love suggestions of [name_f]Jasmine[/name_f] or [name_f]Araminta[/name_f]. [name_f]Jessamine[/name_f] is gorgeous too and unusual.

Congrats! Fun challenge  I love [name_f]Minna[/name_f] for you, it sounds adorable with siblings, and has a special meaning like your other children… What about long form…

[name_f]Araminta[/name_f]
