This might be "it"

WDYT of [name]Genevieve[/name] [name]River[/name]

Siblings [name]Elena[/name] [name]Rose[/name] and [name]Felicity[/name] [name]Iris[/name] [name]Ruth[/name]

Soon we will be living 5 minutes walk from the Ottawa [name]River[/name], and I grew up on the St [name]Lawrence[/name] [name]River[/name]. I like how it matches the R’s of the other girls names, and has the “i-v-e” letters of [name]Genevieve[/name] in it too. WDYT???

[name]Genevieve[/name] [name]River[/name] is very pretty, and I like the connection to her sisters’ middle names!

I think it’s pretty and meaningful.

[name]Genevieve[/name] [name]River[/name] sounds lovely!

While [name]Genevieve[/name] [name]River[/name] is heavy on the v’s, I think the special meaning of [name]River[/name] for you trumps that issue! Go for it!

I think you found “it”! Fun side note, I also grew up along the St. [name]Lawrence[/name] (on the other side of the border though) and I’ve always contemplated using [name]Lawrence[/name] as a middle name for a son someday.

I love the heaviness of the v’s! I love it!

I love the V’s too, I don’t know why some people find issue in that, I think there’s some kind of letter racism against v’s lol because I"ve never heard anyone say, too many L’s, or too many s’s, etc.

It’s a beautiful name. I love it… and also just wanted to say I love the Ottawa [name]River[/name] as well. It was a perfect backdrop for many of our wedding photos.

Perfect! I love it!

I think it’s lovely!

I like it. Very pretty.

I don’t like it. [name]Genevieve[/name] river has too many ‘V’s’ and [name]River[/name] sounds way too masculine. Your daughters have such feminine names [name]Genevieve[/name] should have something more girly or it will clash.

Wholeheartedly agree! Very complimentary of one another. Pretty and unique. My daughter also has a GR fn mn combo with an ie appearing in each. I liked the way they looked together. Our last name also begins with a G so that was also a big thing for me, double initials. If you can find any personal meaning in a name, such as you said about River, then it makes the name all the more special for you. And V is not all that common of a letter in names (I don’t think?) So the fact that she will have two names with V’s in them I think is cool. Go for it!

Out of curiosity, is there anything in particular holding you back? It seems like you’ve thought it thru pretty well.

Also, don’t know if this was intentional or not, but in connection with her sisters names,…
“abcd E-F-G!”

Did everyone else get this right away and I’m just an idiot, or was it a happy coincidence? Either way, just another reason [name]Genevieve[/name] works!

I also noticed the E-F-G is that intentional? I think [name]River[/name] is a STUNNING mn for a girl especially it’s it’s significance to you  [name]Genevieve[/name] [name]River[/name] is rather adorable!

Very nice:D [name]Genevieve[/name] is a lovely name.

lol yes this is intentional actually, we’re cheesy like that lol. and to add to the alphabet… I’m [name]Carol[/name], and my husband is [name]David[/name]. So I sign things c/d/e/f

Hmm, nothing really holding me back except for what you folks thought of it - I wanted to make sure I wasn’t so far down the rabbit naming hole that I didn’t know up from down and it sucked even though I thought it was great lol.

I don’t agree with those who think that [name]River[/name] is masculine, I feel like it’s one of those unisex names that can beautiful for either. I was wondering in different languages whether a river is masuline or feminine, and I found this online:

“Whether a river is known as a he or she depends on its behavior,” notes veteran cruise writer [name]Douglas[/name] [name]Ward[/name] in his annually published Complete Guide to Cruising & [name]Cruise[/name] Ships (Berlitz Publishing, $24.99). For example, says the British author, “the Rhone [in Switzerland and [name]France[/name]] is almost always called ‘he’ because the waters can be turbulent, bothersome and rough” whereas the Saône (in [name]France[/name]) “is a gentler kind of river — more beautiful, more tranquil — and is thus referred to as ‘she.’”
I personally would love to be named [name]Genevieve[/name] [name]River[/name]!! Now I guess we just wait and see if the name stands the test of time… my [name]Felicity[/name] [name]Iris[/name] [name]Ruth[/name] is only 2 months old, so we have awhile to wait until [name]Gigi[/name] would come along! I just love to think ahead, because it would be my NIGHTMARE to be those folks who “are leaving the hospital” with no name, etc. (although we have home births LOL) I love being prepared!!

[name]Genevieve[/name] [name]River[/name] is very pretty and meaningful. I like it a lot! Two thumbs up.
