I strongly dislike it, and one of my favorite names is not in the top 1000. Is it a surname? I just think Bro-land. I say nay.
Brolin seems more familiar. I think it’s a handsome name.
My first thought was [name_m]Josh[/name_m] Brolin.
I definitely wouldn’t say it’s too rare. If anything, I’d say it’s too trendy- it may not be common on its own, but it combines the popular Bro- element ([name_m]Brody[/name_m], [name_m]Brogan[/name_m], [name_m]Brooks[/name_m], plus [name_m]Brendan[/name_m], [name_m]Brandon[/name_m], [name_m]Braxton[/name_m], [name_m]Brantley[/name_m], [name_u]Brayden[/name_u], etc.) with the super-popular two syllable, ends in -n formula for boys. It blends a bit with popular names like [name_m]Nolan[/name_m], [name_u]Dylan[/name_u], [name_u]Aidan[/name_u], etc.
However, sounding like more familiar names isn’t necessarily a bad thing. If you want a name that’s just a little different, Brolan fits the bill.
