I’m in the process of naming characters and I’m stuck for my main. She comes for an old aristocratic family whose name everyone knows but is wary of. They are wizards and related to the founders of [name_f]Ceridwen[/name_f] School of Witchcraft and Wizardry (Ulfvarinn Sturluson and Isetnofret)
Her grandparents on her mother’s side are [name_f]Amarantha[/name_f] [name_f]Xanthe[/name_f] [name_f]Sarika[/name_f] Mhasalkar, who is half Greek half [name_f]Indian[/name_f] and was raised in Mumbai (infertile) and [name_m]Casimir[/name_m] [name_m]Giovanni[/name_m] Iserinn (Eye-seren), who is mostly [name_m]French[/name_m] Italian in blood. Her mother is an only child and she’s called [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] [name_f]Gwendolyn[/name_f] [name_f]Meryl[/name_f] Iserinn. Her name can change but it has to be something related to nature as she was concieved by a woodland nymph called Siofra.
Her grandparents on her father’s side are called [name_u]Malin[/name_u] Konstanineva and [name_m]Leonid[/name_m] Romanov. Her father, [name_m]Alexander[/name_m] [name_u]Konstantin[/name_u] Romanov ‘[name_u]Sasha[/name_u]’ is one of three boys Grigory, [name_u]Konstantin[/name_u] and [name_m]Alexander[/name_m]. He is the youngest.
Her grandparents are very influencial in their grandchild’s name. Currently, I backwards-and-forwards between [name_f]Artemisia[/name_f], [name_f]Theodosia[/name_f] and [name_f]Klementina[/name_f]. Ideally her name would have some Greek influence as that translates most easily into Russian.
I know I want a strong name as my character is a person who commands a lot of power without trying and is quite intimidating despite being about 5ft and quite skinny. She’s got a round face with dark coffee-coloured skin, one golden and one violet eye and full lips. She still looks very childish so I also want a nickname that only her family call her. I’ve been toying with Sova (Owl in Russian), [name_f]Feya[/name_f] ([name_f]Fairy[/name_f] in Russian) and [name_f]Nola[/name_f].
