[name]DECLAN[/name] for wearability and being on-trend without overused. [name]Tristan[/name] went a bit popular after Legends of the Fall, despite its literary cred. Also, the name means, essentially, ‘sad,’ as he was invented to be a tragic hero.
[name]CASPIAN[/name]. It’s bold, has lovely phonetics, and isn’t entirely fanciful thanks to the Sea. Tasman = Australia’s biggest patriot; in the States more people would think of the cartoon devil than [name]Abel[/name] Tasman
[name]ROSCOE[/name] I like the rascally good-old-boy vibe. [name]Bosco[/name] sounds like a cartoon bear.
[name]CATO[/name]: the [name]Roman[/name] statesman trumps the mythological bird
[name]BERESFORD[/name]: strikingly uncommon, yet wearable. [name]Wolfgang[/name] is more familiar but strikes the ear as gruff and heavy
[name]FINN[/name]: [name]Fionn[/name] is doomed to a lifetime of being misheard as [name]Fiona[/name], with the attendant gender issues. [name]Finn[/name] MacCool is a fun namesake.
[name]SULLIVAN[/name]: I don’t think [name]Gulliver[/name] is ready for life outside the pages of the 18th c.
[name]BECKETT[/name]: you get [name]Samuel[/name], [name]Thomas[/name] a, and no whiskey muddying the waters.
[name]Declan[/name] OR [name]Tristan[/name]: I dislike [name]Declan[/name], but that’s my issue. [name]Tristan[/name] is romantic, but tragic and a lot of the people naming their kids [name]Tristan[/name] is in a category I wouldn’t like to be counted in (in [name]London[/name] at least). I’d prefer [name]Tristram[/name] over both these.
[name]Caspian[/name]: Romantic and evocative.
[name]Roscoe[/name]: Dashing and handsome. Midlake has a wonderful song called [name]Roscoe[/name] too.
[name]Cato[/name]: This name is badass. I love the name [name]Cato[/name]. [name]One[/name] of the best -o names.
[name]Wolfgang[/name]: Sexy and dark. [name]Beresford[/name] is not bad either, but [name]Wolfgang[/name] is cooler. And I much prefer wolves to bears.
[name]Finn[/name] OR [name]Fionn[/name]: Honestly, I like both. [name]Finn[/name] is cleaner though, and it’s so light and sweet. So I’d say [name]Finn[/name].
[name]Sullivan[/name]: This is nice. [name]Gulliver[/name] = [name]Gulliver[/name]'s Travels. Boring book.
[name]Beckett[/name]: [name]Samuel[/name] [name]Beckett[/name] over whiskey any day. [name]Beckett[/name] is pretty cool, [name]Jameson[/name] is just [name]James[/name] with a son attached to it.
