This or That?

A simple this or that. I can’t make up my mind which one I like the best, so feel free to add personal impression, association, any other thoughts etc.

[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] or [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f], [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] or [name_f]Amelie[/name_f]
[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f], [name_f]Alexa[/name_f] or [name_f]Alexia[/name_f]

[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] because there’s less of the wheeze sound that I hate
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] because its prettier and less common but I prefer the spelling [name_f]Emelia[/name_f].
[name_f]Alexa[/name_f] purely because its prettier but my favourite [name_u]Alex[/name_u] name is [name_f]Alexandria[/name_f].
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] I helped,
[name_f]Ellie[/name_f] xx

My choices would be:

[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] - I think the “a” ending makes it more feminine and less old-fashioned. [name_f]Louise[/name_f] always makes me think of [name_f]Thelma[/name_f] and [name_f]Louise[/name_f].
[name_f]Amelie[/name_f] - I do like [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] a lot, but it is getting popular. I’m never sure if I’m saying [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] correctly.
[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] - I prefer this classic name over newer [name_f]Alexa[/name_f] and [name_f]Alexia[/name_f].

If you’re asking for my favourite of the group, I’m torn between [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] and [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f], but I think I’d say [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] as it’s not very common.

[name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Alexia[/name_f]

[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] vs [name_f]Louise[/name_f] - [name_f]Louise[/name_f]. Sounds simpler and prettier to me.
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] vs [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] vs [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] - I’d have preferred [name_f]Emily[/name_f] over them all, honestly. But if choosing between this three, I pick [name_f]Amelie[/name_f]. [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] is a boom name in my area and I am pretty tired of it (p,us it sounds unbelievably horrid with typical for my country last names and patronymics, I can’t understand why to this to a child - think [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Petrovna[/name_f] Ivanova) and [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] is more charming than [name_f]Amelia[/name_f].
[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] vs [name_f]Alexa[/name_f] vs [name_f]Alexia[/name_f] - [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]. [name_f]Alexa[/name_f] sounds like boys name with -a, weird feminization to my ears(a la [name_f]Adama[/name_f] or [name_f]Davida[/name_f]) and [name_f]Alexia[/name_f], if I am not mistaken, is a medical term.

[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] – [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] makes me think vintage; [name_f]Louise[/name_f] makes me think old lady.

[name_f]Amelie[/name_f] – I agree with a pp that I’m never quite sure how to say [name_f]Emilia[/name_f]. [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] is nice but pretty popular depending on where you are.

[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] – I’m just not a fan of [name_f]Alexa[/name_f], and especially not [name_f]Alexia[/name_f].

[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] – because it makes me think of [name_m]Little[/name_m] House on the Praire and that reminds me of watching with my mom. [name_f]Louise[/name_f] always sounds like a middle to me
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] – Because it’s gorgeous. [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] I pronounce differently (em-ee-lee-ah instead of uh-mee-lee-ah) and I frankly think it looks dumb (sorry) and [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] is a nickname to me
[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] – I just prefer it. I think it’s much prettier, it gives a ton of nickname options (including [name_f]Alexa[/name_f] and [name_f]Alexia[/name_f]). It has [name_m]Al[/name_m],[name_u]Allie[/name_u], [name_u]Lex[/name_u], [name_u]Lexie[/name_u], [name_f]Alexa[/name_f], [name_f]Alexia[/name_f], [name_f]Xia[/name_f], [name_f]Xandra[/name_f]

[name_f]Louisa[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Alexia[/name_f]

[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] or [name_f]Louise[/name_f] - I like the literary connection and the elegance of the “a” ending.
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f], [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] or [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] - [name_m]Even[/name_m] though she had a tragic ending, aviatrix Ms. [name_f]Earhart[/name_f] is a great role model.
[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f], [name_f]Alexa[/name_f] or [name_f]Alexia[/name_f] - majestic and serene. The other two can’t compare.

[name_f]Louisa[/name_f]
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]

[name_f]Louisa[/name_f], [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]

[name_f]Louisa[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]

[name_f]Louisa[/name_f]- [name_f]Louise[/name_f] sounds too old ladyish for me
[name_f]Amelie[/name_f]- Its less expected and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] is getting kind of popular
[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]- I don’t like the other two they are very common near me.

[name_f]Louisa[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Alexia[/name_f] (although I love [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] as well - just not [name_f]Alexa[/name_f]!)
