This or That?

[name_f]My[/name_f] girls list is much longer and different than my boys list. please tell me which name you like better and maybe why. thanks!!

[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] vs [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] vs [name_f]Lorraine[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] vs [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]
[name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] vs [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] vs [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Adaline[/name_f] vs [name_f]Ada[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] vs [name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] vs [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] vs [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] vs [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] vs [name_f]Grace[/name_f]

[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] vs [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]: [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]. [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is overused and it doesn’t sound as nice as [name_f]Caroline[/name_f].
[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] vs [name_f]Lorraine[/name_f]: I honestly can’t chose between them…I guess if I had to I would chose [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f].
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] vs [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]: [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f].
[name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] vs [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]: [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f], it is a nice alternative to [name_f]Emily[/name_f] and [name_f]Emma[/name_f].
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] vs [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]: [name_f]Annabel[/name_f], but only because of [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] [name_u]Lee[/name_u].
[name_f]Adaline[/name_f] vs [name_f]Ada[/name_f]: [name_f]Adaline[/name_f]. I like this better because [name_f]Ada[/name_f] feels too short.
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] vs [name_f]Nora[/name_f]: [name_f]Nora[/name_f], I love the sound.
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] vs [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]: [name_f]Alice[/name_f], I like the literary background.
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] vs [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]: [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f], I like the nn [name_f]Viv[/name_f].
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] vs [name_f]Violet[/name_f] : [name_f]Violet[/name_f], I love color names.
[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] vs [name_f]Grace[/name_f] : [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f], it doesn’t feel over used.

These are just my opinions. [name_u]Love[/name_u] some of your name choices.

[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]
[name_f]Ada[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f]

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] (Very, very popular, but so much prettier than [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] in my opinion)
[name_f]Lorraine[/name_f] (I just prefer the sound)
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] (Simple, but classic. I’ve known quite a few, but I’m not a fan if the -lie ending of [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]; it sounds a bit babyish to me)
[name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] (The -leen/-line pronunciations for [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] can be confusing, I’m not a huge fan either way)
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] ([name_f]Annabel[/name_f] has kind of bad associations for me)
[name_f]Ada[/name_f] (I prefer the sound)
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] ([name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], brilliant associations for me)
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] (Simply because it’s less popular than [name_f]Alice[/name_f], both are nice!)
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f] (Unfortunately [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] doesn’t sound as good as it looks when I say it out loud)
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] (I pretty much like both equally, but because of [name_f]Violet[/name_f]'s closeness to violent, I chose [name_f]Lucy[/name_f])
[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] (A girl I know put me off [name_f]Grace[/name_f] :()

[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]: Not as overused as [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]: I’ve never like the name [name_f]Lorraine[/name_f], so definitely [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]. Plus you can also use the nickname [name_u]Rory[/name_u], and I love nicknames!
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]: Because it can always be shortened to [name_f]Rose[/name_f] or [name_f]Rosie[/name_f]
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]: Again, not as overused as your alternative
[name_f]Annabel[/name_f]: Can always be shortened to [name_f]Anna[/name_f] or [name_f]Belle[/name_f]
[name_f]Adaline[/name_f]: Can be shortened to your alternative
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]: I’ve always loved [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]: This is another that I’ve always liked, plus I can’t get the cartoon image of [name_f]Alice[/name_f] out of my head when I hear that name
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]: But I like the spelling [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] a bit more
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]: Because it sounds beautiful
[name_f]Grace[/name_f]

I like every one of these. But if I HAVE to choose:

[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] vs [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] - [name_f]Caroline[/name_f]. [name_m]Both[/name_m] are popular but somehow [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] feels like it’s everywhere. [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] has tons of NN options and, with steadier usage, doesn’t feel trendy.
[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] vs [name_f]Lorraine[/name_f] - [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] will probably get you a more favorable reaction from your non-name-nerds, but I do love them both. I think it’s time for a baby [name_f]Lorraine[/name_f].
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] vs [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] - [name_f]Rose[/name_f]. So graceful.
[name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] vs [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] - [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]. But I have been warming to [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] (only that spelling).
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] vs [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] - [name_f]Anna[/name_f]. More popular but less trendy. Pairs beautifully with a lot of middles.
[name_f]Adaline[/name_f] vs [name_f]Ada[/name_f] - [name_f]Ada[/name_f]. [name_f]Adaline[/name_f] might get lumped with all those Addalyns and Adelyns. I like them both though.
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] vs [name_f]Nora[/name_f] - [name_f]Nora[/name_f].
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] vs [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] - [name_f]Alice[/name_f]. Spunky, like [name_f]Alice[/name_f] in Wonderland.
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] vs [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] - [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. I know it’s not uncommon, but [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is still one of those names that feels special whenever I hear it.
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] vs [name_f]Violet[/name_f] - Tough one! [name_f]Violet[/name_f], if I must.
[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] vs [name_f]Grace[/name_f] - [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. But if it were [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f], [name_f]Cecile[/name_f], or [name_f]Cecily[/name_f], I’d go with that.

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] is so soft and feminine. [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] is equally feminine but imo it seems a little harsh, and not as pretty as [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f].

[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] is exotic but still familiar. [name_f]Lorraine[/name_f] just feels outdated to me. Not in a chic vintage way, but in a “not ready for a comeback” way.

[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] seems more fresh than [name_f]Rose[/name_f].

[name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] is a beautiful classic, while [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] seem a bit forced to me.

[name_f]Anna[/name_f] is simple yet elegant and classic. [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] is cute but lacks the elegance to the same standard that [name_f]Anna[/name_f] holds.

[name_f]Adaline[/name_f] feels trendy. [name_f]Ada[/name_f] is beautiful, feminine, and adorable!

I like both [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] and [name_f]Nora[/name_f]. If I had to choose between the two I would lean more toward [name_f]Nora[/name_f] just because I think it’s less common (even with the popularity of [name_f]Nora[/name_f] [name_m]Jones[/name_m])

[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] will always remind me of [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] Hepburn, and what an incredible association to have. [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is nice but a little plain [name_f]IMO[/name_f].

[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] is gorgeous, classy, exotic ([name_m]French[/name_m] spelling), and still vintage inspired… and [name_f]Vivi[/name_f]… I mean, nicknames don’t get much cuter than that! [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] is sweet and somewhat whimsical, but not nearly as beautiful as [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f].

I prefer [name_f]Violet[/name_f] to [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] for the same reasons as above with [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] vs. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f], although I still like [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] even more than [name_f]Violet[/name_f].

[name_f]My[/name_f] opinion of [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] surprises me. It is charming, somewhat exotic, aesthetically beautiful - but I just don’t like it as much as I should. I think I don’t like the “seel” sounds in it. If it were pronounced seh-sell-ee-ah, I’d like it more but that is obviously incorrect. [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is a bit too common for my taste. [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] gets my vote, even pronounced the correct way lol.

[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] vs [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]…[name_f]Caroline[/name_f]
[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] vs [name_f]Lorraine[/name_f]…[name_f]Lorraine[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] vs [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]…[name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] vs [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]…[name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] vs [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]…[name_f]Anna[/name_f]
[name_f]Adaline[/name_f] vs [name_f]Ada[/name_f]…[name_f]Ada[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] vs [name_f]Nora[/name_f]…[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] vs [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]…[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] vs [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]…[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] vs [name_f]Violet[/name_f] …[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] vs [name_f]Grace[/name_f]…[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f]

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Lorraine[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] (only because I prefer the [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] spelling)
[name_f]Ada[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Grace[/name_f]

A lot of these were really hard for me to choose between!

[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] vs [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] vs [name_f]Lorraine[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] vs [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]
[name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] vs [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] vs [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Adaline[/name_f] vs [name_f]Ada[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] vs [name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] vs [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] vs [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] vs [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] vs [name_f]Grace[/name_f]

[name_f]Alice[/name_f]/[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f]/[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] were particularly difficult as I love both!

[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] vs [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]: Ooooh, this is hard, but I have to say [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f].
[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] vs [name_f]Lorraine[/name_f]: [name_f]Lorraine[/name_f], though I dislike both
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] vs [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]: [name_f]Rose[/name_f] (simpler is better in my book)
[name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] vs [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]: [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f], [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] is boring
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] vs [name_f]Annabel[/name_f]: [name_f]Anna[/name_f], [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] reminds me of a cow
[name_f]Adaline[/name_f] vs [name_f]Ada[/name_f]: [name_f]Adaline[/name_f], while simple is usually better this one is just beautiful
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] vs [name_f]Nora[/name_f]: [name_f]Nora[/name_f], though I love both
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] vs [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]: [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], my all-time favorite
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] vs [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]: [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] vs [name_f]Violet[/name_f]: [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] vs [name_f]Grace[/name_f]: [name_f]Grace[/name_f]

[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] vs [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] – Feels less overused and has a sweet charm.
[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] vs [name_f]Lorraine[/name_f] – [name_f]Lorraine[/name_f] sounds very tired and not as spunky as [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f].
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] vs [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] – [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is just a little too frilly for me in the first name spot and [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is simple and elegant.
[name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] vs [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] – A little fresher and not as overused. I pronounce it emma-LEEN.
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] vs [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] – Can be shortened anyway, and [name_f]Anna[/name_f] doesn’t seem like enough sometimes.
[name_f]Adaline[/name_f] vs [name_f]Ada[/name_f] – Would prefer [name_f]Adaline[/name_f] if it was spelled [name_f]Adeline[/name_f], but [name_f]Ada[/name_f] feels too nicknamey to me.
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] vs [name_f]Nora[/name_f] – Simple, strong, and gorgeous.
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] vs [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] – Timeless, and [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] is a little too trendy for me.
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] vs [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] – [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] just strikes me the wrong way sometimes by the way it sounds.
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] vs [name_f]Violet[/name_f] – [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] brings to mind images of [name_f]Princess[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] from the [name_m]Mario[/name_m] franchise, and also of a cow I knew with this name. [name_f]Violet[/name_f] seems much more usable for a person.
[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] vs [name_f]Grace[/name_f] – Never liked [name_f]Grace[/name_f] – it seems really tired and I can’t erase the image of it being a faceless filler middle name. [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] is so regal to me and brings to mind daisies for some reason (although I prefer [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]).

These are just what I prefer. I don’t see anything wrong with any of the names on your list.

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]
[name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f]
[name_f]Annabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Adaline[/name_f]
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f]
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]*
[name_f]Grace[/name_f]

[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] : I love both, but it’s a favorite of mine.
Lorelei: I don’t care much for either name, but [name_f]Lorraine[/name_f] is just…not for me.
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]: [name_m]Both[/name_m] are beautiful, but [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is so cute and can be shortened to [name_f]Rose[/name_f] or [name_f]Rosie[/name_f], so it’s a win/win for me.
[name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]: I’ve known plenty of Elizabeths and not enough Emmelines.
Anna: I don’t usually care for names ending in [name_f]BEL[/name_f].
Adaline: I think I really just love “line” names haha
[name_f]Nora[/name_f]: I love [name_f]Eleanor[/name_f] and [name_f]Eleanora[/name_f], so of course I think [name_f]Nora[/name_f] is beautiful.
Alice: I like both, but [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is in my top ten right now.
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]: Such a cute name
Daisy vs Violet : I can hardly choose! I’d say [name_f]Violet[/name_f] is more useable as she grows up, but [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is definitely a guilty pleasure for me.
[name_f]Grace[/name_f]: I’m going through a thing with the name [name_f]Grace[/name_f] right now. I’d love a little [name_f]Gracie[/name_f]. I don’t like [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] much.

[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] vs [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] - I love both but chose [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] because I also love the nickname [name_f]Lottie[/name_f].
[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] vs [name_f]Lorraine[/name_f] - I am personally not fond of either but prefer [name_f]Lorraine[/name_f].
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] vs [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] - I adore both.
[name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] vs [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] - I adore both, plus [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f].
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] vs [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] - I adore both.
[name_f]Adaline[/name_f] vs [name_f]Ada[/name_f]
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] vs [name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] vs [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] vs [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] vs [name_f]Violet[/name_f] _ I am not fond of [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] but dislike [name_f]Violet[/name_f].
[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] vs [name_f]Grace[/name_f] - I adore [name_f]Grace[/name_f].

Yes, I cheated a lot. It was just too hard to choose. So I didn’t.

[name_f]Caroline[/name_f] vs [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] - I can’t choose, they’re both so great! [name_m]Both[/name_m] beautiful and sophisticated.
[name_f]Lorelei[/name_f] vs [name_f]Lorraine[/name_f] - [name_f]Lorelei[/name_f]. It’s quirky and reminds me of [name_m]Gilmore[/name_m] Girls. [name_f]Lorraine[/name_f] is pretty, but still dated.
[name_f]Rose[/name_f] vs [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] - [name_f]Rose[/name_f] for its simple elegance. [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] sounds little girlish to me and isn’t as sweet or elegant as [name_f]Rose[/name_f] [name_f]IMO[/name_f].
[name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] vs [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f] - I really like both…I think it depends on what nn you would use if any.
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] vs [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] - I used to hate [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] because it reminded me of an animated cow from a movie. But I’ve come to really like it because it’s so sweet and has a pretty sound. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is nice but bland/boring
[name_f]Adaline[/name_f] vs [name_f]Ada[/name_f] - depends on how you are pronouncing [name_f]Adaline[/name_f]. [name_m]Both[/name_m] are nice. Maybe [name_f]Adaline[/name_f] bc then you could use [name_f]Ada[/name_f] as a nn.
[name_f]Amelia[/name_f] vs [name_f]Nora[/name_f] - oooh, close. I really like both. I’ll choose [name_f]Nora[/name_f] because I like its simplicity and I don’t hear it very much. It has a little quirk too.
[name_f]Alice[/name_f] vs [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] - [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] times a million. I’ve never liked [name_f]Alice[/name_f] for some reason. [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] reminds me of Hepburn and old Hollywood glamour.
[name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] vs [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] - [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]. This is my favorite spelling, it’s so feminine and chic. [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] has always sounded too little girlish for me.
[name_f]Daisy[/name_f] vs [name_f]Violet[/name_f] - I think [name_f]Violet[/name_f] would age better, but it seems to be getting very popular. [name_f]Daisy[/name_f] is maybe too little girlish but it’s also spunky and quirky so I’ll choose [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]. [name_m]Both[/name_m] are nice names though.
[name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] vs [name_f]Grace[/name_f] - If you are using [name_f]Celia[/name_f] as a nn for [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f], then I choose that bc I like [name_f]Celia[/name_f]. Otherwise, [name_f]Grace[/name_f] ([name_f]Grace[/name_f] is pretty and soft, which I love, but I little bland).

Thank you for all the amazing feedback!
