Camrose. I saw it on a map of [name]Canada[/name], and I love it! I’m not completely satisfied with [name]Allison[/name], because it’s not as unique. But I have never seen anyone with this name! Camrose [name]Snow[/name] sounds pretty cute too. :] your thoughts?
I like the sound of it, and Camrose [name]Snow[/name] does sound very pretty
I would be hesitant to pick a place name off a map just based on how it sounds without any connection to the place or any idea of if the place is nice…I grew up in NJ and I can’t believe people name their kids [name]Camden[/name]!
Camrose sounds pretty, but I like [name]Allison[/name] & it’s origins and nicknames ect…also I like [name]Camilla[/name] [name]Rose[/name] nn Camrose (or [name]Cameron[/name] [name]Rose[/name] if that’s more your style?)
Oh I love it. Probably because I’m Canadian. Lol.
But really, it’s very pretty! Camrose. I like it more than [name]Cameron[/name] on a girl.
Camrose [name]Allison[/name] would be pretty, but Camrose [name]Snow[/name] is lovely.
I live near Camrose actually, I can’t picture it on a child and think it’s kind of sily because it’s so local to me but I bet people in [name]London[/name], [name]Ireland[/name] and other place names think the same. It could be a pretty name if it wasn’t so placey to me. Also, I wouldn’t suggest just picking a name off a map, every city has a reputation that you may or may not want to associate your child with unknowingly.
Where I live, no one has ever heard of the place lol small town [name]Louisiana[/name] isn’t the most cultured place But I’m willing to do some research!
I like it, I think it’s pretty but I’m not sure about how usable it is. It has regular name elements, [name]Camille[/name] and [name]Rose[/name], so that is something good it has going for it. As for place names, a lot of the names used to name places have roots in names originally meant for and still used for people. I [name]Remember[/name] hearing that [name]Camden[/name], for example was a Scottish boys first name before becoming a last name/place name. There are a ton of places called [name]Camden[/name] all over the world, I’m sure there is more than one Camrose in the world too. My point is that you never know what association anyone will attach to any name, place name or not. If you like a name and could see it working within your child’s peer group than go for it. Is Camrose really any more unusual to the average person than say [name]Eulalia[/name], [name]Oceane[/name], or [name]Marigold[/name], which are names that are commonly pushed within baby naming communities (at least they are unusual in my area)?
[name]Even[/name] [name]Camden[/name] is unusual in my area! If you tell someone you’re thinking of naming your child [name]Eulalia[/name] here, they’ll probably think you should be in a mental hospital. Everyone where I live is so conservative. But thanks for that view @ursa_minor!
I kind of like it! I’m usually not a huge place-names person, but Camrose has a sweet sound. It reminds me of [name]Primrose[/name] or [name]Penrose[/name]. I do prefer [name]Primrose[/name] personally but it is cool. I think [name]Cam[/name]/[name]Cami[/name] and [name]Rose[/name]/[name]Rosie[/name]/[name]Ro[/name] are cute nns for it. Camrose [name]Snow[/name] does sound very pretty!
