This popped up in the most popular names today:

[name_f]Banana[/name_f]

Can anyone tell me who is naming their kid [name_f]Banana[/name_f]? What’s the demographic on this.

[name_f]Apple[/name_f] is one this. [name_u]Berry[/name_u] is one thing. [name_f]Banana[/name_f] is a whole new… thing.

Poor child. It’s bordering on abuse.

[name_m]Just[/name_m] because it popped up doesn’t mean someone’s using it. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t worry!

I believe the most popular names of the day are the most searched or most viewed - not the actual most popular names from Nameberry. The daily popularity seems to change every few hours -so that’s why I’m thinking it’s actually based on the names that are clicked on the most during the day, but I could be wrong on that.

Regardless, I doubt we’ll see a large group of children named [name_f]Banana[/name_f] any time soon.

I know of a Japanese author who’s given name is [name_f]Banana[/name_f], but it’s pronounced like BAH-nah-nah. She wrote the novel Goodbye, Tsugumi (which is a great read).
