What do you think of [name_f]Thisbe[/name_f]? It has always been one of my favorite names, but more of a guilty pleasure. [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think it is usable?
It’s a literary name the same as plenty of other names from mythology and poetry that have recently become more popular. Kind of tragic, but no more so than the super-popular [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]. So it’s definitely quirky, and probably not everyone finds the sound of it especially appealing – but I don’t see any reason it couldn’t be usable.
I like [name_f]Thisbe[/name_f] a lot, but I don’t think I’d ever use it. I’m a [name_m]Christian[/name_m], so the idea of using a name from another belief system, or at least is strongly associated with that belief system–[name_f]Iris[/name_f], for example, has the tie to Greek mythology, but is also a flower name–seems odd to me. I don’t know that I’d be able to get behind it. But I think [name_f]Thisbe[/name_f] is lovely, and would love to meet a little one with the name!
