We have a boy with a strong name, [name_m]Venn[/name_m] [name_m]Atticus[/name_m], and are looking for a complimentary girl’s name. Top contenders are [name_f]Thomasin[/name_f] or Eisley, last name of [name_m]Fielder[/name_m].
We are looking for nontraditional names with a hint of British etymology; suggestions for other names are welcomed.
Before I read your post I thought “boy” when I read both of these names–I don’t say that as a criticism, just to give you an idea of how they might be perceived. Though taking another look I am thinking [name_f]Thomasin[/name_f] is probably a version of [name_f]Thomasina[/name_f], and Eisley reminds me of the more common [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u], which I’ve only heard used on girls, so I can see them in a more unisex/feminine light if I think about it.
The only suggestion I can think of at the moment is [name_f]Tamsin[/name_f], which seems to me like a nice variation for [name_f]Thomasin[/name_f] which sounds more feminine to me, but definitely still strong, and has that British link in a major way. [name_f]Tamsin[/name_f] and [name_m]Venn[/name_m] sound nice together to me.
I actually really love the name [name_f]Thomasina[/name_f]…It’s very strong and majestic, but I think the extra ‘a’ gives it a hint of femininity and elegance that softens the edges a little.
I may be in the minority, but I love the name Eisley. I’ve considered it for my own list, too. (I am also a [name_f]Star[/name_f] Wars fan, so that may be why!!)
