We were all set naming my twin girls, or so I thought. Now I am struggling.
I have 4 year old [name]Charlotte[/name], 2 year old [name]Arlo[/name].
We were set on [name]Evie[/name] (possibly just [name]Eve[/name]) which was my choice and [name]Emmeline[/name] (nn [name]Emme[/name]), which my DH picked. But when I tell people, no quite gets it. [name]Emmeline[/name] is just confusing to everyone. Then I feel like I have to justify it with a whole history run down. I think I just want something more simplistic. And he likes fancier names (ie, [name]Penelope[/name], [name]Amelie[/name], etc).
On top of it, our last name is super long and complicated and [name]East[/name] [name]Indian[/name]. It has a hyphen and starts with [name]Pai[/name]. But he doesn’t want to do [name]Indian[/name] names. Which I wouldn’t mind bc they go nicer with that crazy last name.
Any thoughts? Or should I just keep [name]Emmeline[/name] and [name]Evie[/name]? I’m due in the next couple weeks…
What about just naming her [name]Emme[/name]? [name]Eve[/name] and [name]Emme[/name].
Or using [name]Amelie[/name] and still using nickname [name]Emme[/name]?
I love the name [name]Emmeline[/name]! Not sure why you’re getting weird responses to it. I think it goes very well with your older daughter [name]Charlotte[/name] and it has obvious similarities with the twin name [name]Evie[/name].
This is what I thought!
The hubby won’t just name her [name]Emme[/name], either. I think that would be cute and sweet. But he doesn’t love “nicknames” as first names, I’m really fighting for [name]Evie[/name], but she might end up [name]Eve[/name] or [name]Eva[/name]. He is so difficult.
[name]Evie[/name] and [name]Emme[/name] would be my choice.
[name]Evie[/name] is a bit nicknamey next to [name]Emmeline[/name]. Obviously [name]Evelyn[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name] wouldn’t work, but I think [name]Eve[/name] or [name]Eva[/name] nn [name]Evie[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name] nn [name]Emme[/name] is the best. Or [name]Genevieve[/name], which I’ve seen on here used as a long form for [name]Evie[/name] as well.
Oh, that’s too bad about [name]Emmeline[/name]! [name]How[/name] about [name]Emily[/name] or [name]Emma[/name]?
[name]Emmanuelle[/name]? Like the actress [name]Emmy[/name] Rossum–her full name is [name]Emmanuelle[/name].
[name]Genevieve[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name] make a great twinset and go with [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Arlo[/name] quite nicely.
Ahhh, you nameberry friends get me! I will stop freaking out and keep [name]Emmeline[/name] and [name]Eve[/name] (or [name]Eva[/name] or [name]Evie[/name]).
It’s funny, as I write this I get a text from the hubby that he still likes [name]Violet[/name]… Geez.
I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Emmeline[/name]! I think it is so cute and sweet, but will age well too! I actually like it quite a bit better than [name]Evie[/name]. I think [name]Emmeline[/name] is great with [name]Charlotte[/name] and [name]Arlo[/name] (both of which I love, also, by the way). I agree with the opinion that [name]Evie[/name] is too nicknamey, I think the suggestion of [name]Genevieve[/name] and [name]Emmeline[/name] ([name]Evie[/name] and [name]Emmy[/name]) is perfect! I wouldn’t change [name]Emmeline[/name], I love it!
