I’m more and more falling in love [name_f]Snow[/name_f] as her first name instead of middle. [name_m]Or[/name_m] going by her middle.
[name_f][/name_f]
What are thoughts on the perception and feel of [name_f]Snow[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]? [name_m]The[/name_m] imagery, symbolism, and vibe. It feels elegant and pure yet powerful and edgy. Somehow [name_f]Snow[/name_f] feels timeless to me ??
[name_m]Hi[/name_m]! [name_f]My[/name_f] 13 month old has the middle name $no.w. It’s absolute perfection. I certainly believe it is usable in the first name spot. Although, I don’t think much is off limits. A lot of my perception of [name_f]Snow[/name_f] comes from my daughter, so keep that in mind. She’s sweet, peaceful, pure joy, and an absolute miracle. [name_m]You[/name_m] know the stillness of fresh fallen [name_f]Snow[/name_f]? That’s her. A breath of fresh air. It’s so surprising it isn’t used more! But, that’s why I ultimately ended up using it, too
[name_m]Ah[/name_m], I love [name_f]Snow[/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- wintery, bright and lovely! It reminds me of a favourite fictional character (Lucy Snowe from [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] Bronte’s [name_f]Villette[/name_f]) and feels similar to [name_f]Winter[/name_f], but also [name_f]Shiloh[/name_f], [name_f]Meadow[/name_f], and Marlow)
[name_f]Snow[/name_f] is gorgeous, and definitely usable as a first name! She’s elegant and gentle, but also has a quiet sort of strength about her. [name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]
I think [name_f]Snow[/name_f] is so[name_f][/name_f] incredibly beautiful (and I love @SimplySarahBeth’s explanation of her vibe), but I don’t personally think she’s usable as a first name. [name_f]In[/name_f] my opinion, she’s fair game for the middle and as a nickname, but I’d be apprehensive about using her as a first. It’s a bit too brave in my opinion, and I’d be a bit worried about the connections to the slang word for drugs. It’s such a bummer, because she’s so wonderful!
snow is gorgeous and peaceful. she’s soft and gentle, very literary. she definitely does have a timeless feel [name_f][/name_f] she’s brave for a first spot, for sure, but totally useable.
[name_f]Snow[/name_f] is lovely! [name_f][/name_f] I’ve often considered her for my list, though she feels a little too much like [name_f]Snow[/name_f] [name_m]White[/name_m] for me as a first. [name_f][/name_f] I love her in a double barrel name like [name_f]Ella[/name_f] [name_f]Snow[/name_f] or your [name_f]Umaya[/name_f] Snow/Uma [name_f]Snow[/name_f], though!
I agree with @readingreverie[name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f], [name_f]Snow[/name_f] is so gorgeous and I would love for it to be more useable as a first, but am hesitant to affirm it due to the slang. Maybe it’s just too brave for me personally.
[name_f][/name_f]
I am also hesitant on the idea of children going solely by their middle, just because it could be a hassle for them, but that ball is in your court too.
Well if this isn’t the sweetest thing I’ve ever read. Wow! Your daughter is so lucky to have a mum who sees her like this
[name_f][/name_f][name_f][/name_f]
I absolutely think it’s useable. Bold, sure, but think of [name_f]Rain[/name_f], [name_f]Summer[/name_f], [name_m]River[/name_m], all of which are established names. It makes me think of [name_f]Snow[/name_f] [name_m]White[/name_m] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] Snowe. It would equally suit a gentle girl or an edgier cool girl.
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_m]The[/name_m] dr*g slang did not occur to me until I read others’ replies and personally I don’t find it a dealbreaker. If anything the resurgence in Hunger Games’[name_f][/name_f] popularity with the bad guy named [name_f]Snow[/name_f] gives me pause, but that is unlikely to be in the forefront of people’s minds forever and it’s only one character vs the nature meaning which is of course timeless and enduring. It also makes me think of the charming song[name_f][/name_f] in [name_m]White[/name_m] [name_f]Christmas[/name_f][name_f][/name_f] [name_f][/name_f]- ‘snow, snow, snow, snow!’
[name_f][/name_f]
I’d be over the moon to meet a little [name_f]Snow[/name_f]
I agree with everything @SimplySarahBeth[name_f][/name_f] has said gorgeous name really whimsy and ethereal. A lovely choice however I think [name_f]Snow[/name_f] is a middle name choice only maybe a little harder to wear as a first name.
Im a fan of names that are unexpected. And snow i think is the perfect mix of sweet, [name_f][/name_f] bold & unexpected. But still is familiar and follows all spelling and pronunciation rules.
It’s totally usable! [name_m]Go[/name_m] for it [name_f][/name_f] I love the fact that you’ve decided you love it more as a first name instead of a middle.
[name_f][/name_f]
[name_f]Snow[/name_f] makes me think of Winter; its peacefulness and uniqueness. [name_f][/name_f]I also think of a couple of tv characters and of course [name_f]Snow[/name_f] [name_m]White[/name_m].
