And what you picture when you think of [name]Leatrice[/name].

P.S.
I have crush on [name]Esme[/name], [name]Maeve[/name] too.
Which one do you like the best? ([name]Esme[/name], [name]Leatrice[/name], [name]Maeve[/name])

Thank you very much.

I don’t really like [name]Leatrice[/name]. It sounds like [name]Lea[/name] and [name]Beatrice[/name] smooshed together. It also kind of sounds like lettuce. However, I love [name]Esme[/name] and [name]Maeve[/name]! [name]Esme[/name] is probably my favorite, it sounds so fashionable and…cool. I see a lot of dark, rich colors associated with the name. [name]Esme[/name] [name]Leatrice[/name] is pretty.

I’m not sure exactly how to pronounce it. It sounds a little homely to me. The other names are nice though.

I love [name]Laetitia[/name]/[name]Letitia[/name] and [name]Beatrice[/name] individually, but [name]Leatrice[/name] doesn’t have the same charm to me.

[name]Maeve[/name] is my favourite, then [name]Esme[/name] (which I adore but feels more nickname-ish) and then [name]Leatrice[/name].

I originally misread it as lettuce and even after realizing what it said i still pictured lettuce. [name]Esme[/name] and [name]Maeve[/name] are nice though!

I am pronouncing this luh-TREESE, but I have no idea how it’s pronounced as it’s the first time I’ve ever seen it (though I have her the name luh-TREESE, just don’t know how it’d generally spelled).

Not a huge fan. Seems like it’s trying to be glamourous, but sounds very homely and plain.

First impression? It sounds made up or like a cheap knock-off of [name]Beatrice[/name].

There is a flower called Liatris - lee-uh-tris. That’s also how I’ve been reading [name]Leatrice[/name]. Is that right? I have seen it before but just assumed it was 3 syllables, like [name]Beatrice[/name]? I don’t like luh-TREESE at all.

stripedsocks, I have no idea, [name]Lee[/name]-uh-tris sounds plausible, but I’ve just never heard it before, so that’s why I assumed luh-TREESE.

You could be right!

I have met a [name]Leatrice[/name] (prn lee-uh-tris) before once, a patient in a nursing home. I have to say, its one of my guilty pleasure names. Since meeting her, I have really liked the name.

I don’t like it at all… Sorry

[name]Leatrice[/name] is very unpleasant to me. I’m not sure why, but I just don’t like the sound of it. I definitely prefer [name]Esme[/name] and [name]Maeve[/name].

I’ll be honest, I saw the thread title and thought you’d mistyped [name]Beatrice[/name]. I wouldn’t even know how to say it, is it like [name]Beatrice[/name] or is the [name]Leah[/name] sound more pronounced? I’m not a fan, it looks made up to me and I much prefer the simple [name]Leah[/name].

I had a school secretary named [name]Leatrice[/name]. Everyone pronounced it “[name]Lee[/name]-AT-tris”. I’m indifferent to it. I also think if one pronounces it like “[name]Beatrice[/name]” it very quickly starts to sound like “Leech-ris”.

I WANT to say that this would be lay-ah-trees - I love it in theory, I love [name]Lia[/name] /[name]Lea[/name] names and I love [name]Beatrice[/name], so this fits the bill for me, but ont eh other hand it semi-reminds me of the word latrine. >_<
