My partner and I found out we are expecting! We are only 8 weeks so still early (and anxious) so names are becoming more important now that I will be naming and actual little human! I have kind of scratche [name_f]Lilia[/name_f] as my first daughters name as [name_f]Lily[/name_f] names are too popular where I am (QLD Australia) and I have been wanting something different. So I am crushing on 4 names I have had on my list.
[name_f]Romia[/name_f] NN [name_f]Ro[/name_f] or [name_f]Mia[/name_f].
[name_f]Elara[/name_f] NN [name_f]Elle[/name_f], [name_f]Lara[/name_f] or [name_u]Ari[/name_u].
[name_f]Athena[/name_f] NN [name_f]Thea[/name_f]
[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] NN [name_u]Tali[/name_u] or [name_f]Lula[/name_f]
I am just wanting your thoughts on these names.
Middle names can be found in my sig.
As for the names, in order I like [name_f]Elara[/name_f], [name_f]Athena[/name_f], [name_f]Romia[/name_f], and [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f].
[name_f]Elara[/name_f] I like because it’s vaguely familiar (what with all the [name_f]El[/name_f]- names that are popular these days), but still unique. Plus, it’s both mythological and astrological, so that’s cool.
[name_f]Athena[/name_f] is pretty and strong. It might have the upperhand over [name_f]Elara[/name_f] in that [name_f]Athena[/name_f] is familiar to way more people, so you wouldn’t have as many, if any at all, spelling or pronunciation issues. It really comes down to personal preference on this one, which is why ranked [name_f]Athena[/name_f] second under [name_f]Elara[/name_f].
[name_f]Romia[/name_f] is okay. I like the nn [name_f]Mia[/name_f] though. This name is unusual and unique.
[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] comes in last because I’ve always thought it was a little… insubstantial? I don’t think it’s a serious name, and I don’t see it aging well unfortunately. It just seems flimsy, imo.
These are my own opinions obviously, so take them as you will. I hope this helps, and good luck!
[name_u]Love[/name_u] your list! Listed by favorite for me would be [name_f]Romia[/name_f], [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f], [name_f]Athena[/name_f], [name_f]Elara[/name_f]. I love the full name combo of [name_f]Romia[/name_f] [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u].
I love [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] [name_f]Scarlett[/name_f], but am not as keen on [name_f]Gwen[/name_f] tacked at the end. (I actually think [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] would work well here, or [name_f]Fae[/name_f], a name like [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Ruth[/name_f], or [name_u]Joan[/name_u] could work also.)
[name_f]Elara[/name_f] is the only one I’m not especially fond of, and even then you still have a lovely name combo there.
[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] is my favourite, I’ve loved her for a long time. So feminine and playful yet self-assured enough to hold herself. It feels so bright and happy but not at all one-dimensional; [name_f]Tallulah[/name_f] has a definite reverence to her. I think that paradox is what I appreciate most. And [name_f]Lula[/name_f] is just gorgeous of course!
[name_f]Romia[/name_f], I’m not very familiar with. I think it’s a bit ‘odd’ though on first impressions but I’m not entirely against it since [name_u]Romy[/name_u] is so dear to me (as a [name_f]Rosemary[/name_f] nn). One thing I will say is it reminds me an awful lot of the words Romania and [name_u]Romany[/name_u] etc. I think it would grow on me if I knew one.
[name_f]Elara[/name_f] is really gorgeous but it’s not one of those that clicks with me. I personally prefer [name_f]Lara[/name_f] alone but [name_f]Elara[/name_f] does have a regal quality to her. I can imagine myself loving it if I knew one.
[name_f]Athena[/name_f] is pretty, but again it’s not one I click with and [name_f]Thea[/name_f] alone is much more my thing. She has a rich history and usage though, with enormous strength. A solid choice just not my favourite.
Congrats! I think [name_f]Elara[/name_f] is pretty but maybe I prefer [name_f]Lara[/name_f]. If you say both names a bunch of times out loud you can barely tell them apart! I do like the meaning of [name_f]Elara[/name_f].
[name_f]Romia[/name_f] is really interesting and very beautiful… it’s my favourite! I believe that people would get used to this name… it’s straightforward the way [name_f]Sonia[/name_f] is. [name_f]Romia[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] is absolutely gorgeous!
[name_f]Tallulah[/name_f]… I’ve run into some people lately who have literally no idea how to spell this name. I was working on a cross-border collaborative music project where this was the title of a piece and everyone butchered it - the Brits, the Canadians, and even the Americans. It turned me off the name. But maybe Australians are more familiar/better name spellers, lol?
[name_f]Athena[/name_f] - personally I don’t think you can go wrong! I like your combo [name_f]Athena[/name_f] [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f], it’s stunning! [name_f]Athena[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f] [name_u]Quinn[/name_u] would also work beautifully, imo.
