Thought on Phaedra.

Earlier today I was scrolling through the girl names and I found [name]Phaedra[/name], I was unsure about what I thought at first but now I can’t get it out of my naming ideas. WDYT?

I love it! I named my daughter [name]Phaedra[/name].

[name]Phaedra[/name] is a beautiful name, it mean “bright/beaming/sparkling”. I wouldn’t use it because the myth of [name]Phaedra[/name] is so tragic, but it is a gorgeous name.

Isn’t it the name [name]Peaches[/name] Geldof is going to name her unborn son?
Anyway, [name]Phaedra[/name] is wonderful name from the Greek mythology - for a girl that is, it just sounds silly on a boy.

I’m not sure if I’m pronouncing this right, but if it’s [name]FAY[/name]-DRAH, it’s very pretty.

It’s pronounced FI:drah (long i).

I love it. I’ve always pronounced it [name]FAY[/name]-druh, like [name]Astraea[/name], as the original Greek spelling was [name]Phaidra[/name] and pronounced FYE-druh. Different spelling, different pronunciation. This is how it’s pronounced in the 70s song too.

I’m not a fan, especially because the first time I heard it was on a trashy lady who thought she was the epitome of class.

I love the name but not as much as [name]Persephone[/name] and [name]Pandora[/name] but it’s definitely a gorgeous and unique name.

It’s a beautiful, ancient name that feels modern and elegant. [name]Love[/name] it!

It’s a gorgeous, unused name. I say it [name]Fay[/name]-druh. There is the tragic myth, so that might put some people off, but if I loved it I would use it.

My daughter’s name is pronounced [name]FAY[/name]-druh. We are always getting compliments on her name.

Oh, it’s fabulous. I think I have a new crush.
