. . . I told my husband about my GP name and he loves it. I’m so shocked and excited that I don’t even know what to think!

Out third son is due in 5 weeks. We were going with a family name from my side, so I was just talking about names for fun.

I mentioned Somerled (Meaning, origin and history of the name Somerled - Behind the Name) as a long time favorite, and he said we should use it. I never put it on the list because I thought it would be too strange for him. I never in a million years thought I could actually use it! It would be much more unusual than our first sons’ names, but I think we’re going for it. [name_m]Just[/name_m] had to share the excitement!

Somerled is my ultimate guilty pleasure name too! Like you I mentioned it to my husband thinking there’s no way he’d go for it. Surprisingly, he loves it too! But we’re about to have our last kiddo and I think we’re going with a different name that is more meaningful to us. I’m so happy to see someone else using it!!

What’s the other name you’re considering, if you don’t mind sharing? And would you use any nicknames for Somerled at all?
