I’m 13 weeks pregnant and we’re considering [name_u]Abbott[/name_u] [name_m]William[/name_m] for a boy.
However, our last name is [name_m]Eaton[/name_m]… [name_u]Abbott[/name_u] [name_m]Eaton[/name_m]… is that horrible?
Boy names are so hard for us, I have 3 daughters ([name_f]Madeline[/name_f], [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] and [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]) how do you think [name_u]Abbott[/name_u] will go with those names?
[name_u]Abbott[/name_u] [name_m]William[/name_m] is a very handsome name! At the same time, the t sounds in [name_u]Abbott[/name_u] and [name_m]Eaton[/name_m] are a little hard to say. But, I wouldn’t say that it’s horrible. If you like it, you should use it!
I think [name_u]Abbott[/name_u] goes well with the names of your daughters! [name_u]Abbott[/name_u] [name_m]Eaton[/name_m] sounds nice. The repeating "t"s are probably what give you any reservation about how it sounds, but overall it’s a nice.
Here are a few names that I thought are similar to [name_u]Abbott[/name_u]:
^ I know a bunch of these end in “n” or have a “t” in them (like your last name)… sorry about that! I was going a little more for similarity. [name_f]Hope[/name_f] it helps!
I love the name [name_u]Abbott[/name_u]. I knew an adorable little boy named [name_u]Abbott[/name_u] a long time ago and I’ve loved it ever since. [name_u]Abbott[/name_u] [name_m]Eaton[/name_m] is a little t heavy but if you love it then I would use it.
I love [name_u]Eliott[/name_u], but a close friend of ours just named their son that last summer. That was actually always on our short least for a boy each pregnancy. I don’t feel like we could use it now.
I like [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m], but also know a couple in our circle. Also, a couple of Ashers.
A religious title, a surname, and my (awful) Prime Minister. Nope nope, can’t do it, can’t consider it.
Perhaps without those connotations I could deal with it. I do love [name_u]August[/name_u], [name_u]Emmett[/name_u], [name_m]Wyatt[/name_m], and other -t ending names. Shame about [name_u]Eliott[/name_u]/[name_u]Elliot[/name_u].
[name_u]Ren[/name_u], that’s clever! Made me laugh out loud.
I agree though. I don’t mind some occupation names, mostly ones that aren’t used in everyday life anymore e.g. [name_m]Tanner[/name_m], [name_u]Mason[/name_u]. But [name_u]Abbott[/name_u] doesn’t seem like a name to me.
[name_f]Honesty[/name_f] like a couple of other people here I think of Australia’s Prime Minister [name_u]Tony[/name_u] [name_u]Abbott[/name_u]. But if you like the name then go for it.
[name_u]Abbott[/name_u] [name_m]Eaton[/name_m] doesn’t go well imo. Also, [name_u]Abbott[/name_u] is the surname of the current Australian Prime Minister, so that’s all I think of.
