[name_m]Hi[/name_m], Berries!
I was reading that amazing book from [name_m]Aldous[/name_m] [name_m]Huxley[/name_m] called Brave [name_m]New[/name_m] World, and I just couldn’t stop thinking how lovely was the name Lenina - the major female character of the book. I was also in love with the nickname [name_u]Lennie[/name_u], which was one of my favourite nicknames even before I found out about the name Lenina.
What are your thoughts about it? Is it wearable?
Thanks! ”
I’d heard that Lenina was used in [name_f]Russia[/name_f] (and the Soviet Union?) to honor [name_m]Lenin[/name_m], which I’m not sure how I feel about it, but I love how it feels like an elaboration of [name_f]Lena[/name_f], and I’ve admired it since I first came across it, too! She’s so unexpectedly dainty and pretty. I would probably use the nn [name_f]Lena[/name_f] or [name_f]Leni[/name_f], honestly–I adore them both just about equally!
If the [name_m]Lenin[/name_m] thing is true, I probably wouldn’t want to use it, but if not, I find it totally wearable (and completely gorgeous!).
I love [name_u]Lennie[/name_u], but prefer it as a nn for [name_f]Lenore[/name_f] or [name_f]Leona[/name_f].
[name_m]Lenin[/name_m] was the first thing I thought of, sorry. What about [name_f]Lena[/name_f], [name_f]Nina[/name_f] or [name_f]Alina[/name_f]?
I loathed the character, and she’s named after [name_m]Vladimir[/name_m] [name_m]Lenin[/name_m]. So that’s a no from me.
I was kinda hoping nobody mentioned [name_m]Lenin[/name_m], but I can see the association is too clear and strong for this name be considered wearable, at least in the real world.
Thank you, anyway!
