I liked [name_u]Jude[/name_u] when I heard it for the first time. When I started to think more seriously about it, I wasn’t sure. I wonder about the whole “Hey [name_u]Jude[/name_u] thing…” and them possibly being called [name_f]Judy[/name_f] (it is what my 3 year old did right away when she heard it. It was cute when she did it for [name_u]Sam[/name_u] ([name_u]Sammy[/name_u]) but for [name_u]Jude[/name_u] not so much). I know it is short so obviously doesn’t need a nickname but find people always want to added a Y on things. I am not a fan of [name_m]Judah[/name_m] either. I would be interested to hear your general opinion on the name and the pros/cons you see. Thank you!
I love [name_u]Jude[/name_u]! It’s short, sweet and cute. I don’t think the Hey [name_u]Jude[/name_u] association is bad.
I really love the name [name_u]Jude[/name_u]! I like the sound, the shortness and the cool vibe it has!
I’ve been teaching a [name_u]Jude[/name_u] at work and so far no one’s called him [name_f]Judey[/name_f] or reacted negatively to his name
[name_m]Hi[/name_m] there.
I love the name [name_u]Jude[/name_u]. And part of the reason that I love it is because of The Beatles song. I totally understand your [name_f]Judy[/name_f] concern though. I love [name_m]Julian[/name_m] nn [name_u]Jude[/name_u] or maybe even [name_m]Julius[/name_m].
[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps.
Jude is a very well established name for boys, and I think the Beatles reference is a positive.
[name_u]Jude[/name_u] is great! I dont add it to my list because of [name_f]Judy[/name_f] however I know I’m being silly
My nephew is [name_u]Jude[/name_u] and everyone loves it! We generally just call him [name_u]Jude[/name_u], however he also gets Juders, Judeler, Jute, and [name_u]Jude[/name_u]-Bug from time to time - very rarely [name_f]Judy[/name_f]
It’s very Hey [name_u]Jude[/name_u] to me, but I fail to see how this association is in any way unpleasant. There is also [name_u]Jude[/name_u] the Obscure but it’s not my first thought when I see [name_u]Jude[/name_u]. I think it’s a very nice name.
I love [name_u]Jude[/name_u]! I would use it in a heartbeat if it weren’t getting so popular. I also love the hey [name_u]Jude[/name_u] association! Maybe you’d like [name_m]Julian[/name_m] with the nickname [name_u]Jude[/name_u]?
[name_m]Don[/name_m]’t know if it helps but the main character in one of my favorite books is named [name_u]Jude[/name_u], and his (male) friends affectionately call him [name_f]Judy[/name_f] several times throughout the book. It is very endearing and not in any way rude or mocking.
