I think we did it. My husband and I finally narrowed down our baby name for our little girl born this [name_u]December[/name_u]. It’s a double-tribute name.
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f] ([name_f]Louisa[/name_f] for my husband’s grandfather and his own mn, [name_m]Louis[/name_m]… and [name_f]Ann[/name_f] for my sister. It’s her mn.)
[name_m]Just[/name_m] wondering about first impressions, thoughts, and possible drawbacks of this name. What do you think of, personality-wise or physically? Thanks!
I love love love [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]! (I wish my husband would too). I love that it’s a rarely used classic, and I love how charming and feminine it is. And, I love that it honours two important people in her life.
[name_f]Ann[/name_f] is a fairly basic middle, but it becomes special here because she will share her middle with her aunt.
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f] is very pretty. No drawbacks
I think [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f] is wonderful! It’s a beautiful way to honor multiple people with one child! Also, I adore the name [name_f]Louisa[/name_f].
Genuinely excited for you, @kelekolb – congratulations!
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] is feminine and ladylike. Dignified and elegant. She is timeless and traditional. A royal classic with vintage charm.
Perhaps you might elaborate on her honor middle for a more distinctive pairing. For example, [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Antoinette[/name_f] / Anntoinette.
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] is gorgeous, and I love all the ties to family in [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f] for you! It sounds like a real winner. Plus, [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] has some gorgeous nns if you ever want one (not that [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] needs one!)–[name_f]Lulu[/name_f], [name_u]Lou[/name_u], [name_f]Lola[/name_f], [name_u]Isa[/name_u]/[name_u]Issy[/name_u], even [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] as a stretch. There are so many babies being born around me right now, and I would be tickled pink to find out one was being named [name_f]Louisa[/name_f]!
Beautuful choice with several meaningful family connections! I also like [name_f]Anne[/name_f] v [name_f]Ann[/name_f] but that is a minor detail. I can think of no drawbacks!
I think [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] is lushly modern and adorably vintage, but I have some drawbacks about pairing it with the name [name_f]Ann[/name_f], simply because [name_f]Ann[/name_f] (as opposed to [name_f]Anne[/name_f]) is rather aging to me personally, and when I say the name out loud I feel like it ages [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] as well. Like a previous commenter suggested, I think that may be solved by finding a more modern alternative to [name_f]Ann[/name_f] as your honorary middle. But that may just be me, haha, and at the end of the day you do what you want :).
[name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Ann[/name_f] is very pretty. I personally prefer [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] [name_f]Anne[/name_f] too though. Otherwise, lovely name!
