We’ve been trying to conceive for a little while now, and the longer it takes the more I am trying to perfect our name choices. In doing this, I just keep over thinking what we have! I would really love some honest feedback on our name choices, or any way you think we could improve them all suggestions and feedback would be greatly appreciated.
[name_u]Charlie[/name_u] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]-I think that this sweet feminine mn is a good fit w/[name_u]Charlie[/name_u], but I just love [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] for a boy & it doesn’t work on a girl for me. At very least it’d be better as a nn for a more feminine girl name.
[name_f]Athena[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]-I’m not sure why I can’t get into [name_f]Athena[/name_f], but it’s a cool name. It’s strong, feminine, unique yet simple. [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is adorable. I personally love [name_f]Anthea[/name_f] even more, which is similar.
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]-Darling! [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] is precious on a little girl yet sophisticated on an adult. This combination is perfect. I also like [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] for a little more spunk. So many great nns here too: Idgie, [name_f]Imee[/name_f] or [name_f]Ginny[/name_f].
[name_m]Gideon[/name_m] [name_m]Tobias[/name_m]-Oh, this is nice. The combo has a good flow & makes sense together. [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] is kind of quirky yet strong & vintage too.
[name_m]Phineas[/name_m] [name_m]Draco[/name_m]-I love [name_m]Phineas[/name_m]. It also has quirkish charm, w/the awesome nns of [name_u]Finn[/name_u] & Finney. I don’t much care for [name_m]Draco[/name_m]. It just reminds me of Dragon.
[name_m]Mordecai[/name_m] [name_m]Ezra[/name_m]-[name_m]Mordecai[/name_m] is a little much for me in real life. I suppose that [name_u]Cai[/name_u] is a cool nn though.
It can be nice to have names as a distraction, it took us a while to conceive too xx
[name_u]Charlie[/name_u] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] - have you considered [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] with the nickname [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]? I don’t personally find [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] very feminine, but aside from that it’s quite different stylistically to your other names if you imagine them as siblings. I do think the names sound lovely together though.
[name_f]Athena[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] - gorgeous, feels kinda serious to me though
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] - my favourite choice. [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] is sweet and fun and very wearable
[name_m]Gideon[/name_m] [name_m]Tobias[/name_m] - clunky cool vibes here, not my style, but I think this is a great name
[name_m]Phineas[/name_m] [name_m]Draco[/name_m] - this feels like a lot of name, kind of like a protagonist for an action teen novel
[name_m]Mordecai[/name_m] [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] - [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] Moredcai appeals to me more, I think it flows better and would be my favourite boy option
[name_u]Charlie[/name_u] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]: I love the modern twist of [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] with the more classic [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]. This is a well rounded, beautiful name that could fit any type of girl and definitely my favorite out of your girl names.
[name_f]Athena[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]: WOW. A stunning name. It’s elegant and exudes beauty. (my cousins name is [name_f]Athena[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] so I’m kinda partial to this name lol)
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]: This is my least favorite of your girl names. It pales in comparison to the others. Both names are ok but I don’t find them as ravishing as the others.
[name_m]Gideon[/name_m] [name_m]Tobias[/name_m]: I get cool guy vibes from this name. I love it! It’s modern and old timey and I think it would be a perfect brother to [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]. My favorite of your boy names.
[name_m]Phineas[/name_m] [name_m]Draco[/name_m]: [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] is just plain adorable. I like it paired next to a stronger, more harsh name like [name_m]Draco[/name_m], however I don’t think the name flows that well, but it could work.
[name_m]Mordecai[/name_m] [name_m]Ezra[/name_m]: I like each of these names separately. In my opinion they don’t sound that good together. I think if you switched them to [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] [name_m]Mordecai[/name_m] it would flow a lot better.
[name_u]Charlie[/name_u] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] - so gorgeous! I really like [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] on a girl, I think it’s spunky but still sweet. [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] is elegant with slight princess vibes, balancing [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] perfectly.
[name_f]Athena[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] - I love the meaning behind [name_f]Athena[/name_f], and [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is stunning. Another beautiful name, but I still love your first option - this one seems a little frilly (which isn’t a bad thing, I just get princess vibes from both name - I prefer girl combos slightly less feminine than this!).
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] - This is still gorgeous, but I think it pales in comparison to your other two. [name_m]Don[/name_m]'t get me wrong, it flows perfectly and is sweet, vintage and feminine. I just think your other two are even better!
[name_m]Gideon[/name_m] [name_m]Tobias[/name_m] - [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] has always seemed dated to me, so I can’t say I’m a fan… but [name_m]Tobias[/name_m] is so lovely! Sweet, handsome and warm. [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] could work in the middle spot for me! I would really love [name_m]Tobias[/name_m] [name_m]Gideon[/name_m].
[name_m]Phineas[/name_m] [name_m]Draco[/name_m] - [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] is fresh and intriguing, but I do prefer [name_m]Felix[/name_m] in this instance - just because I think these two names together are a bit too… mystical. There isn’t anything wrong with that, but next to more grounded names like [name_m]Gideon[/name_m], I think it sticks out a bit. I love [name_m]Draco[/name_m] in the middle spot! I’m not sure if it’s a nod to [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m], but I freaking love it! It’s gotten quite a few connotations since the [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m] series so it might be a little tough in the first name spot, but as a middle it adds the right amount of a magical vibe
[name_m]Mordecai[/name_m] [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] - [name_m]Mordecai[/name_m] immediately struck me as a bit heavy for a little boy to carry, but I love that mystical vibe behind it… how about Malachai? It has that same vibe but seems lighter and fresher to me, and you can still use the nickname “[name_u]Kai[/name_u]”! [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] is handsome and more grounded, I like the balance.
I wish you good luck with starting your family!
[name_u]Charlie[/name_u] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] - I think this is really cute, but I know a lot of little Charlottes called [name_u]Charlie[/name_u], and the name is only rising in popularity. I like the sound of [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] with [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] though!
[name_f]Athena[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] - This is really cool! I think [name_f]Athena[/name_f]'s beautiful, with a unique, bold sound and a fun mythological connection. [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] makes the combo sound sweet.
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] - My favorite. [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] is so underused and [name_f]Immy[/name_f] a precious nickname if you want to go that route! [name_u]Unique[/name_u] and charming but not weird, and [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] is cute and vintage in the middle.
[name_m]Gideon[/name_m] [name_m]Tobias[/name_m] and [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] [name_m]Draco[/name_m] - So here’s what I’d do, I’d switch the middles of these. [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] [name_m]Draco[/name_m] and [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] and [name_m]Mordecai[/name_m] [name_m]Tobias[/name_m]. Because [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] [name_m]Tobias[/name_m] seems a bit too biblical, and [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] [name_m]Draco[/name_m] a bit too out there. I really like [name_m]Gideon[/name_m], and I [name_f]ADORE[/name_f] [name_m]Phineas[/name_m]! It’s so underappreciated. Nn [name_u]Finn[/name_u]'s always adorable too.
[name_m]Mordecai[/name_m] [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] - [name_m]Mordecai[/name_m]'s so effortlessly cool! Nickname [name_u]Kai[/name_u]'s a great bonus.
I’ll keep this short because I think they all work except for one - [name_m]Mordecai[/name_m]… it reminds me too strongly of death - sorry. What about something like [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] instead? Still starts with M and ends with “[name_u]Kai[/name_u]” so to me it has similar appeal but without the association with death ”*♀”
[name_u]Charlie[/name_u] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] - I’m not a fan of this, sorry. [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] is much too nicknamey, but I knew a girl named [name_u]Charly[/name_u] and I felt like this spelling made it much more complete as a full name. [name_u]Charly[/name_u] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] still doesn’t quite sound right though, [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] is too frilly and outdated next to modern, spunky [name_u]Charly[/name_u]. Perhaps [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] nn [name_u]Charlie[/name_u]/[name_u]Charly[/name_u] would be an option? [name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Carly[/name_f] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]?
[name_f]Athena[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] - This is gorgeous! I love [name_f]Athena[/name_f], she’s so beautiful and majestic. [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is a nice change from simple [name_f]Rose[/name_f] in the middle spot.
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f] - I like this a lot! I love [name_f]Imogen[/name_f], but I’ve never liked [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]. In the middle of this combo though, it is lovely. I would love it if it were [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] though.
[name_m]Gideon[/name_m] [name_m]Tobias[/name_m] - I love [name_m]Tobias[/name_m], but don’t really like [name_m]Gideon[/name_m]. [name_m]Tobias[/name_m] [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] would be very handsome.
[name_m]Phineas[/name_m] [name_m]Draco[/name_m] - I adore Finneas, but this spelling reminds me of [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] & Ferb. [name_m]Draco[/name_m] is also very Malfoy, and feels a bit negative.
[name_m]Mordecai[/name_m] [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] - [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] is very handsome, but also incredibly popular. I agree with a pp though that [name_m]Mordecai[/name_m] makes me think of death, perhaps because it has similar sounds to the word morbid.
[name_u]Charlie[/name_u] [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]- I really like [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] for a girl and I think this combo is very sweet. It does seem so stylistically different from the other names on your list though, especially the boys
[name_f]Athena[/name_f] [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]- I love [name_f]Athena[/name_f] and [name_f]Rosalie[/name_f] is cute. The combo flows well.
[name_f]Imogen[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrice[/name_f]- this is my least favorite but I’m not a fan of either name so that’s why. There’s nothing wrong with the names, they’re just not my style. I like [name_f]Athena[/name_f] and [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] a lot more
[name_m]Gideon[/name_m] [name_m]Tobias[/name_m]- I don’t like [name_m]Gideon[/name_m]. I’ve always thought it was odd and the character on [name_f]Gravity[/name_f] Falls is who I associate it with the most so it also sounds a bit pretentious and spoiled. It’s just not my style
[name_m]Phineas[/name_m] [name_m]Draco[/name_m]- this combo reads very HP to me and I’m not sure if that’s on purpose? I love [name_m]Phineas[/name_m]; my family adores the TV show [name_m]Phineas[/name_m] and Ferb so the name has lovely associations for me. While I believe [name_m]Draco[/name_m] Malfoy deserved a redemption arc, I don’t like [name_m]Draco[/name_m] as a middle name here. I agree with the PP who said this sounds like the name of the protagonist of a teen action novel
[name_m]Mordecai[/name_m] [name_m]Ezra[/name_m]- this is not my style at all so take this with a grain of salt. I agree with the PPs who said [name_m]Mordecai[/name_m] reminds them of death. I love [name_m]Malachi[/name_m] and [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] though. This just seems like a really heavy name to wear. [name_u]Love[/name_u] the nickname [name_u]Kai[/name_u] though.
