Thoughts on a Few Names

What do you berries think of these names? I added a few thoughts of my own next to each one…

[name]Macey[/name] – spelling it with an E makes me think of the store less
[name]Scarlett[/name] – even though it’s very trendy, I love this name
[name]Adair[/name] – I really like the way this flows
[name]Austen[/name] – boyish, but I love the author and the name [name]Scarlett[/name] [name]Austen[/name]
[name]Keeva[/name] – distinctive and fits in with the whole [name]Eva[/name], [name]Ava[/name], and [name]Evelyn[/name] trend
[name]Calla[/name] – soft and prettier than [name]Lily[/name] in my opinion
[name]Rose[/name] – it’s really overused as a middle (and a first, too) but I love it so much!
[name]Edana[/name] – kind of like [name]Edna[/name] but I put the emphasis on the second syllable; it’s Irish and means “fire”
[name]Finola[/name] – this is so haunting and pretty and I like the nicknames [name]Ola[/name] or [name]Nola[/name]
[name]Bryn[/name] – especially in the middle spot
[name]Camille[/name] – I love the nickname [name]Cammie[/name] as well!
[name]Skye[/name] – vastly prefer it with an E
[name]Josephine[/name] – I love the vintage feel and the nickname [name]Josie[/name]
[name]Ruby[/name] – one of my favourites since I was little

Any comments are appreciated! Thanks in advance!

[name]Macey[/name]- Not a fan of the name, I just don’t like the sound of it. Same thing with [name]Lacey[/name].
[name]Scarlett[/name]-I do find this color name to be charming.
[name]Adair[/name]- Overall I do like it, it just makes me think of a cross between Finnick Odair from Hunger Games and [name]Adele[/name]. But I’m weird.
[name]Austen[/name]-I still think of this as a boys name, even though I too love [name]Jane[/name] [name]Austen[/name]. In the middle though and with the [name]Austen[/name] spelling it would be fine.
[name]Keeva[/name]- I know this the Americanized spelling of the Irish name, but I’m not a fan. Probably because I have an [name]Ava[/name] and love her name so much that something similar doesn’t really compare for me. I do HATE the spelling. It reminds me of Skeevy.
[name]Calla[/name]-I like this. I like [name]Lily[/name] as well.
[name]Rose[/name]- [name]LOVE[/name] this one. It does get overused in the middle (but that doesn’t mean it’s not usable!) but I think it’s refreshing and charming to see it in the first name position. I have similar feelings for [name]Pearl[/name]!
[name]Edana[/name]-From the meaning it seems like the feminization of [name]Aidan[/name]. Which is great as it helped me pronounce it. I never heard of this one, but I like it.
[name]Finola[/name]-[name]Just[/name] can’t love this the way I love [name]Fiona[/name], but I do like it and your proposed nicknames!
[name]Bryn[/name]-I don’t like this. It’s like the shortened version of something else. I find it a bit abrasive actually.
[name]Camille[/name]-Soft and feminine. Not my style the way [name]Rose[/name] would be but I definitely see the appeal!
[name]Skye[/name]- [name]LOVE[/name] IT. My best friend used [name]Skylar[/name] making this pretty much off limits. I love it on both genders too.
[name]Josephine[/name]-I love this, but for me I only ever considered it as a middle name. But I agree with you about the vintage feel.
[name]Ruby[/name]-I think this one is very sweet and it has grown on me a lot since I’ve joined Nameberry but I would never have considered it for myself.

[name]Just[/name] my personal opinions. [name]Don[/name]'t let anyone discourage you from a name you love!

[name]Macey[/name] – This is an ok name. I prefer it spelled [name]Macie[/name] though.
[name]Scarlett[/name] – It’s too fancy for me. I knew a girl named [name]Scarlett[/name] and every time I said her name, it slunded more and more pretentious.
[name]Adair[/name] – [name]LOVE[/name] this. [name]Favorite[/name]. Feminine but not over the top.
[name]Austen[/name] – As in [name]Jane[/name]. Literary names are “in” now but make sure you’re a fan of the author.
[name]Keeva[/name] – I always prefer the authentic original [name]Caoimhe[/name] (or any name) to the phonetic spellings any day. But I understand that the Gaelic spelling can be difficult. But once I get over how it’s spelled, it’s a very pretty name!
[name]Calla[/name] – Very beautiful.
[name]Rose[/name] – [name]WAY[/name] too overused as a middle but not used enough as a first! I say go for it! This name is in my top three for MY fav names.
[name]Edana[/name] – I’ve never heard of this name before but the more I say it, the more I like it.
[name]Finola[/name] – Not my style, but very pretty.
[name]Bryn[/name] – Not my style but sounds very pretty anyway! Sounds like it would fit into a popular trend right now.
[name]Camille[/name] – Name of “the other woman”. Would-be daughter of Cruella DeVille.
[name]Skye[/name] – I also like it with the E. I love this name! Cute on a baby and ages well. I prefer [name]Schuyler[/name]/[name]Skylar[/name] as a longer version.
[name]Josephine[/name] – Boring. I’ve heard it too many times.
[name]Ruby[/name] – Adorable and very usable.

I love these ones:
[name]Scarlett[/name], [name]Calla[/name], [name]Rose[/name], [name]Finola[/name] & [name]Josephine[/name]. I don’t think [name]Rose[/name] is overused as a fn, I hardly ever hear it.

I don’t like [name]Macey[/name] and [name]Keeva[/name], and I think of [name]Bryn[/name] and [name]Austen[/name] as boy names.
