[name_m]Hi[/name_m] Everyone , so I came across a YouTube family who had a daughter named [name_f]Abella[/name_f] & I thought it was so sweet. I love the name [name_f]Isabella[/name_f] but it’s so common so I think this name is a good alternative. What are your thoughts on it?? Is it usable? Thank you!!
Hm, this depends on where you live but for me I just think of the Spanish word abuela, AKA grandmother. It’s a very well-known word even outside of Hispanic communities.
I personally can’t shake the association, but objectively the sound isn’t bad! I definitely prefer Arabella’s sound though.
I think it’s cute, and have never heard it before, but it would depend on how it’s supposed to be pronounced, because, in my accent, it sounds rather harsh with a stressed ‘A’ sound. I imagine it being lovely in other accents though.
Thank you! I speak Spanish but that association never came to my head. Now that I hear it I can’t stop . Thanks I think I will stick with [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] now its a lovely name too!!
[name_f]Abella[/name_f] seems incomplete to me, and I have to agree with pp that it reminds me of abuela. I think it’s usable, but I prefer [name_f]Arabella[/name_f]. There’s also [name_f]Willabella[/name_f], [name_f]Adabella[/name_f], Avabella, [name_f]Clarabella[/name_f], [name_f]Orabella[/name_f], etc. There’s so many -bella names lol
I think it is nice. Definitely on the positive side of naming for me.
[name_f]Abella[/name_f] is quite sweet and interesting though i find the familiar [name_f]Adella[/name_f] easier to say
