What are your thoughts on [name_u]Ainsley[/name_u] for an AA girl? I have only known white girls or older black men with the name and I dont want her to be made fun of for either of these reasons. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I like this classic, but not common name. It is a family name for us as well, but I am not sure I can trust family opinions. 
I think it would be fine for an AA girl but it’s not my style.
If it’s a family name and you love it, I would use it-- giving a child a sense of heritage can help her be proud of it even if the name’s not common in her demographic.
I think it’s a lovely name that would suit any little girl, especially if there is family history behind it. Although I don’t know anyone with the name so I don’t have any particular associations with it.
I think it’s awesome! There’s lots of ‘older men’s’ names that are becoming girls names now anyhow!
I love the name but pronounced as it’s spelled rather than as [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] which I think is the way it’s supposed to be said.
