What do you think of the name [name_f]Alba[/name_f]?
I’m really struggling with girls names lately. [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] & [name_f]Alba[/name_f] are the only names I like right now. Any similar suggestions would be welcome too!
It seems very old lady-ish to me.
I love it! It’s sweet, fresh and simple.

I think it’s ok. It’s very Spanish to me, not that there’s anything wrong with Spanish names but that’s my first thought. I think I’d prefer [name_f]Alma[/name_f] or [name_u]Alva[/name_u]
I quite like [name_f]Alba[/name_f] - sweet and simple, and also has a good spunkiness to her. It would fit alongside traditional/classic type names, as well as more modern ones.
It’s okay, but not my preferred. I would like [name_u]Alva[/name_u] or [name_f]Alma[/name_f] much more.
I’m familiar w/[name_f]Alba[/name_f] because it’s the name of the daughter in The Time-[name_u]Traveler[/name_u]'s Wife. In the Brother Cadfael mystery series, there’s a little girl named [name_f]Rosalba[/name_f]…“white rose.”
[name_f]Alba[/name_f] is beautiful. It feels warm and sunny to me.
I like [name_f]Alba[/name_f], but I’m used to the Gaelic pronunciation and I’m not sure I like it pronounced in English. I love [name_f]Rosalba[/name_f] though.
I like it. As you like [name_u]Alfie[/name_u] you might also like [name_u]Ailbhe[/name_u] / [name_u]Alvie[/name_u]/ [name_m]Albie[/name_m].
I don’t really like it. Sorry! It reminds me too much of [name_f]Jessica[/name_f] [name_f]Alba[/name_f] and unpleasant times in Latin class (it means “white”, but I’m sure you already know that). It strikes me as very cold.
I love it! I really think living in other cultures has helped me open up to names that are less common in the States. I believe other posters have also mentioned [name_f]Alma[/name_f], which I also like.
I love [name_f]Alba[/name_f]. I have seen others mention [name_f]Rosalba[/name_f], which I also love. My friend [name_f]Rosie[/name_f] is a [name_f]Rosalba[/name_f] and her family call her [name_f]Alba[/name_f].
I studied Latin, but it still makes me think of [name_f]Jessica[/name_f] [name_f]Alba[/name_f]. I don’t really like it.
I love the name [name_f]Albertine[/name_f] and think [name_f]Alba[/name_f] would work as a really lovely nickname!
[name_f]Alba[/name_f] feels pretty old fashioned imo, but I can kind of see some appeal.
[name_u]Oakley[/name_u] however feels much more trendy and modern, but I prefer it.
I kind of have a name crush on [name_f]Albani[/name_f] nn [name_f]Alba[/name_f]. I personally wouldn’t use it as it doesn’t fit the style of my other names and it is kind of old lady-ish to me and that isn’t my cup of tea. But, it is cute.
I do prefer [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] over [name_f]Alba[/name_f] but they are both beautiful names.
I think of the poetic names for [name_m]Britain[/name_m] ([name_m]Albion[/name_m] etc). Apparently [name_f]Alba[/name_f] is the Scottish Gaelic for [name_f]Scotland[/name_f].
I love [name_f]Alba[/name_f]!
I love it – it’s at once modern and ancient, chic and evocative.
