Hi everyone! I’ve haunted these forums forever and now need a last minute gut check on our name for baby #2. We had some pretty normal standards for picking a name: not too popular (out of US Top 50), travels well, goes with her older sister’s name (Louisa Laine), and uses an honor name as the middle spot.
Now, four weeks out from her due date, we’ve settled on: Alice Adele.
It checks all our boxes, has the same alliteration as her sister (which we love!), and honors my husband’s beloved grandmother (Dell) who just passed away. I know that Alice and Adele have the same ancient root name, but meanings aren’t terribly important to me and they don’t sound the same at all.
Are we missing any bad connotations or gross pop culture references? Do you prefer Adele or Adèle as spellings for the MN? Any other thoughts we’ve missed? I feel like I’ve talked about names for so long that I’ve lost all objectivity. This was just way easier with our eldest.

Not that it matters but are both names derived from the same name/meaning? Oh ignore this you commented on it already!
In the US I would leave the accent off [name_f]Adele[/name_f] but whatever you prefer!

Ooohh, what a beautiful name! I can’t think of any issues. I would spell [name_f]Adele[/name_f] sans accent, but I don’t think it matters much. [name_u]Love[/name_u] her sister’s name, too!

[name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Adele[/name_f] is so sophisticated, timeless and romantic! I love the meaning behind it and the alliteration. I think the [name_f]Adele[/name_f] spelling is perfect and the most international.

I love [name_f]Alice[/name_f] [name_f]Adele[/name_f]. They are lovely names that sound great together and also have the lovely connection with grandmother [name_u]Dell[/name_u]. [name_f]Alice[/name_f] is also perfect for Louisa’s sister.
