Lately I’ve been crushing on the name [name_f]Amara[/name_f]. I love that it’s multicultural and has so many different meanings, plus it’s familiar without being super popular. I’d use the nicknames [name_f]Mara[/name_f], [name_f]Mari[/name_f], or [name_u]Ari[/name_u].
What do you guys think? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like the name? And what kinds of middles would you pair it with?
I also think it would make a good sibset with a sister named [name_f]Marina[/name_f], [name_f]Amara[/name_f] and [name_f]Marina[/name_f] sounds so lovely~
I absolutely love [name_f]Amara[/name_f]!! It’s enchanting and easy to say for a little girl. Any little girl will love to be named this plus the meaning so lovely
I love [name_f]Amara[/name_f]! [name_f]My[/name_f] little niece is names [name_f]Amara[/name_f] and she is a spitfire! It ages well and is not heard often.
I like to see it paired with more classic English names:
[name_f]Amara[/name_f] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]
[name_f]Amara[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]
[name_f]Amara[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
[name_f]Amara[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]
[name_f]Amara[/name_f] [name_f]Florence[/name_f]
I love love love [name_f]Amara[/name_f] [name_f]Juliet[/name_f]! I’d use the [name_f]Juliette[/name_f] spelling though. I love the middle name [name_f]Louise[/name_f] too, so that’s an option as well.
I love [name_f]Amara[/name_f]–it’s an unusual name with an accessible sound and a fantastic meaning. To me it feels almost…awe-inspiring? Like it can only be the name of someone really, really important. In the right combo it’d be extra stunning.
I think [name_f]Amara[/name_f] and [name_f]Marina[/name_f] are a bit too close for sisters, though, especially if you’d use [name_f]Mari[/name_f] as a nn.
I really like [name_f]Amara[/name_f]. I had it paired with [name_f]Madeleine[/name_f] before. It’s a sweet name that I don’t think is used very often. I wouldn’t use [name_f]Marina[/name_f] with it because they both have [name_f]Mar[/name_f]- in it. It’s very repetitive…
I adore [name_f]Amara[/name_f], it’s one of my top names for a girl, and has been for quite some time. [name_f]Amara[/name_f] [name_f]Estelle[/name_f] nn [name_f]Mari[/name_f] is may absolute favourite combo.
Oooo I love [name_f]Amara[/name_f] [name_f]Celeste[/name_f], [name_f]Amara[/name_f] [name_f]Camille[/name_f], and [name_f]Amara[/name_f] [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f]!
I actually like the matchiness, I know most berries hate matching twin names and I do as well to a certain extent ([name_u]Michael[/name_u] and [name_f]Michaela[/name_f] for example or something, that’s just stupid) but to me [name_f]Amara[/name_f] and [name_f]Marina[/name_f] are just the perfect amount of machiness. If I were to use the names without a nickname they wouldn’t get misheard for the same name, and if I were to use a nn [name_f]Amara[/name_f] would be [name_f]Mara[/name_f] and [name_f]Marina[/name_f] would be [name_f]Rina[/name_f]. But I’m not having kids any time soon so that’s all hypothetical xD
[name_f]Amara[/name_f] is gorgeous. It would be a neat sibset with [name_f]Marina[/name_f] too since they both have an ocean theme to them without being blatant about it.
[name_f]Amara[/name_f] is beautiful. But I too think [name_f]Amara[/name_f] and [name_f]Marina[/name_f] are close for sisters. Either one could be [name_f]Mara[/name_f]/[name_f]Mari[/name_f].
We decided on it awhile back for our girl due next month. It’s nice to see positive reactions to it, and reassuring that people know how to pronounce it and find it approachable/usable, but am really hoping it doesn’t start to trend! [name_f]Every[/name_f] time I see it listed as one of the most popular names of the day here, I have a small panic attack, probably because I had been set on [name_f]Elsa[/name_f] as the first name and then Frozen happened. We’ve considered many of the lovely mns suggested on this thread, and though we’ve decided on something not yet mentioned, I am feeling confident that we chose well. Yay for pretty names!
[name_f]Amara[/name_f] is lovely! I had forgoten how much I love this name, thanks for reminding me! I do think, though, that [name_f]Amara[/name_f] and [name_f]Marina[/name_f] have lots of the same sounds, and that sounds a bit repetitive to me, sorry :\
