Thoughts on Ambrose?

I really like the name [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] but I worry that it might be a bit ‘out there’. Thoughts?

I don’t think it’s out there. You could use [name_m]Mose[/name_m] or [name_m]Abe[/name_m] for a nickname.

I love [name_m]Ambrose[/name_m] (and it’s meaning) but I prefer it as a middle name.

I’ve never liked it. [name_f]Ambrosia[/name_f] is a brand of custard/pudding here (UK), so it automatically makes me think of that. Also, it looks and sounds like a squished up version of [name_f]Amber[/name_f] and [name_f]Rose[/name_f], so feels feminine. It could be a middle name, I guess, if it has meaning for you.
