Do you think it works for an English-speaking country? Would you take a person with name Arina (+perfectly British surname) as a native?
Also, generally speaking is it nice/beautiful/sweet/cool/strange?
Looking forward to your replies!!
[name_f]Arina[/name_f] is pretty!! Intriguing and sleek but familiar too
In theory it’s very pretty but it also sounds the same as arena, like a battle arena. Because of that I’m not the biggest fan but just in terms of sound I do think it’s very pretty and I think it’d fit in with other names kids are getting now
I think [name_f]Arina[/name_f] is pretty! [name_f]Arina[/name_f] [name_f]Yasmine[/name_f] is one of my favourite combos !
However in [name_f]English[/name_f] it sounds like arena - like where we play hockey. So it may be commonly misspelled!
I’m a big fan of if you love the name use it !
I love the sound ! But it reminds me a bit of the word Arena as people have mentioned above. I do think it sounds and looks beautiful though and I think it’s definitely still usable !
thanks a lot everyone
I’m Canadian and with our hockey culture it reminded me of “arena” right away. I also know someone named Irina and it reminds me of that. I imagine that it could end up pronounced similarly enough that I might just suggest that you use Irina? It does sound nice.
Editing to add: I could see it being mistaken for Ariana as well.
