Thoughts on Arthur?

I belief it’s actually in my signature, but [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] has been kind of a guilty pleasure. Then I found out that it’s my great-grandfather’s middle name: [name_u]Marion[/name_u] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]. That makes it seem more usable to me. I still wouldn’t use it as a first.

So, what do you think about it? And what names would you pair it with? [name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], [name_u]Corbin[/name_u] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], [name_m]Augustus[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]??

As a mn, I think it’s ok, but I still don’t love it. Though it does have the family connection.

I love [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] for a first or middle. I have a [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and get lots of compliments on it.

[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] may very well be my favorite name. It has a plethora of wonderful connections - [name_m]King[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] and Sir [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_m]Conan[/name_m] [name_m]Doyle[/name_m], anyone? And the nicknames! Never be confined by the convention that [name_m]Art[/name_m] and [name_m]Artie[/name_m] are the only viable choices: [name_u]Ari[/name_u], [name_m]Aro[/name_m], [name_m]Arrow[/name_m], [name_m]Thor[/name_m], [name_m]Hart[/name_m], [name_m]Arye[/name_m], and [name_u]Ash[/name_u] are all usable, as well as the charming [name_m]Dart[/name_m] <3 It also adds a dignified touch to any name when in the middle spot. All in all, it is a very handsome, underused, and winning choice.

I love [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]. Its handsome and classic. I like the [name_u]Corbin[/name_u] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] combo the best from your list. I prefer it in the middle spot just because I don’t care for the nickname [name_m]Art[/name_m].

I love [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], it’s absolutely perfect to me; especially since I also [name_f]ADORE[/name_f] the [name_m]German[/name_m] pronunciation and the nn [name_m]Artie[/name_m] is rather cute.
I’ve also known the most adorable little [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] (he’s not so little anymore but I haven’t seen him in a while so to me he’s still a little kid) for so many years now and I’ve always loved his name, but I also like the other connections to [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], such as the legend or even [name_m]Harry[/name_m] [name_m]Potter[/name_m].

From your list, I quite like [name_m]Maximus[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], and I generally prefer it with 3+ syllable names, some ideas: [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] ( I had [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] on my list before but I like it both ways), [name_m]Julian[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], [name_m]Dominic[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], [name_m]Benedict[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], [name_m]Leopold[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], [name_m]Nicolas[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], [name_m]Lucien[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], [name_m]Maximilian[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], [name_m]Finnegan[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m], but I love [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] most in the first name spot as it is just such a beautiful name.

It isn’t my style but with family meaning I think it is a great fit for a middle name.

I love the name [name_u]Corbin[/name_u]…

I love [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]. It has history and it’s such a gorgeous name.

From your signature I like: [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m], [name_m]Henry[/name_m] & [name_u]James[/name_u] with [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] as a mn.

[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] is one of my absolute favorites. [name_u]Love[/name_u] it!

We have an [name_m]Orson[/name_m] and an [name_m]Amias[/name_m]. I’ve often teased that we should have gone with [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] for our A name. I especially love it as a first and I love that it’s a family name
Go for it!

[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] is such a lovely, classic yet fun name. It really makes a lovely choice.

I love [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]! It reminds me of Arthurian legend, and I really like the medieval, castles, knights, and chivalry imagery it has. I love that it’s strong and handsome without being harsh. Plus it has a great meaning. Unfortunately it’s on my guilty pleasure list because of how popular it is here (UK) but that doesn’t stop it from being an awesome name. And I feel like it works really well as a first or a middle.

[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] is a great name! I would definitely use if my husband liked it! I like:
[name_u]Owen[/name_u] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]
[name_m]Augustus[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]
[name_u]James[/name_u] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]
[name_m]Ronan[/name_m]/[name_u]Rowan[/name_u]/[name_m]Conan[/name_m] [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]
I think they all sound good with [name_m]Arthur[/name_m] as the first name as well!

[name_m]Arthur[/name_m] is one of the most fabulous names ever. I love it.

I love [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]! I probably wouldn’t use it as a FN either, but I’ve got it in the middle spot for one of my combos. It’s been on my list forever
