[name_f]My[/name_f] favourite book is The Neverending [name_u]Story[/name_u], where one of its heroes is named [name_m]Atreyu[/name_m]. I don’t know much about the origin of the name, from what I can tell it was an invented name for the book. I kind of love it. Both the sound and the link to my favourite book. Is it too weird of a name though? Is it teaseable? And can you think of any cool nicknames?
Middle name will almost certainly be [name_u]Axel[/name_u].
Please share any thoughts on that combo and [name_m]Atreyu[/name_m] in general.
I think it’s got a great sound and looks nice on paper, but it seems fairly simple and intuative to pronounce, and very unique but not too out there. Plus it seems to have great meaning for you, so all in all it’s a great choice!
I’m a big Neverending [name_u]Story[/name_u] [name_f]Fan[/name_f] , I also like [name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] and Falkor , Artax as names. I personally love [name_m]Atreyu[/name_m] !

I think [name_m]Atreyu[/name_m] is definitely a bold and brave choice, but seems usable enough to me! I don’t think it would get teased too much, more uncommon and unexpected names are gaining popularity and are used more often now! So your [name_m]Atreyu[/name_m] may be in a class with a [name_u]Fox[/name_u] and [name_f]Lavender[/name_f]! (Also kids come up with ways to tease even the most common of names! It happened to me when I was a kid, and I had one of the most popular names at the time!!)
Also, I think [name_m]Atreyu[/name_m] [name_u]Axel[/name_u] is an extremely cool name.
I’m not sure if you’re open to [name_u]Axel[/name_u] as a first, but [name_u]Axel[/name_u] [name_m]Atreyu[/name_m] sounds great too, if you’re still unsure about [name_m]Atreyu[/name_m]!
As for nicknames, I think [name_f]Attie[/name_f], [name_m]Trey[/name_m], [name_u]Rey[/name_u] or [name_m]Ax[/name_m] could work! [name_u]Or[/name_u] maybe even [name_u]Rue[/name_u] or [name_u]Tru[/name_u]!

My partner’s brother have a dog named [name_m]Bastian[/name_m], so that’s unfortunately not suitable for us. It’s a very lovely name though. Re the band, I’ve seen that they exist when doing a google search, but I have honestly never heard of them, nor their music. They might be bigger in the states than Europe and Australia. I don’t mind that at all.
[name_u]Axel[/name_u] [name_m]Atreyu[/name_m] rolls off really well. Better than [name_m]Atreyu[/name_m] [name_u]Axel[/name_u]. Especially with the last name being [name_f]Sura[/name_f]. [name_u]Axel[/name_u] is after my grandfather and we have a long tradition with that name. I would probably be so bold to use [name_m]Atreyu[/name_m] as the called name. I like [name_f]Attie[/name_f] as nn. That’s super cute. Not a fan of [name_m]Trey[/name_m]. I’m also thinking what possible siblings could call him if they can’t yet pronounce [name_m]Atreyu[/name_m]. Maybe Teyu, [name_f]Tey[/name_f] or [name_u]Ayu[/name_u]. All pretty cute too.
I guess I have to convince my partner this is the radest name ever. His favourite names are [name_m]Dante[/name_m] and [name_m]Heath[/name_m].

I’m also a massive fan of The Neverending [name_u]Story[/name_u] and have [name_m]Bastian[/name_m] high on my list either for the first or middle name for this child. So, I can definitely appreciate [name_m]Atreyu[/name_m]! It’s got a great sound and whilst it is out there, especially to people who aren’t aware of the reference, I do think it’s wearable - especially because of the nickname options, namely [name_f]Attie[/name_f] and [name_m]Trey[/name_m] (I’m also not a fan of the latter though).

yes, that makes sense!! They were extremely popular when I was younger, so that’s why I know a lot of people around my age know them. I didn’t think it was an issue though, they’re really great, I just wanted to mention it in case you weren’t aware!

I’m not familiar with the name, but I love the sound! It seems strong and adventurous but familiar and warm at the same time. I like the middle [name_u]Axel[/name_u]. I adore this combo!
yessss!!! atreyu is totally cool. the neverending story isn’t a bad connection at all, and let’s be real, how many kids these days know it? i actually know a little atreyu and it works just fine.
