[name_u]Autry[/name_u] has been on my mind a lot lately, and just wondering what you all think!
I really like [name_u]Autry[/name_u] -very charming and elegant
Beautiful! Reminds me of the name Daughtry.
ooo I’ve never heard of this before! it’s quite lovely
Sounds just like [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] when I say it.
It looks like Aunty
Thank you for your insight!
I also have an accent that flattens those sharp Ts in words into Ds (I’m from the American South), so it’s definitely something to keep in mind if you live somewhere with that accent or if it bothers you!
I think I love the idea of it but it doesn’t sound good in my accent
I think this might be the same boat I’m in
To me it sounds the same as [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], and would likely be mistaken often for such.
I really like it in theory - I don’t pronounce it exactly like [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] and I find it charming and unexpected - however I do think it would be mistaken for [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] a lot since [name_f]Audrey[/name_f] is getting quite a bit of use these days.
[name_u]Autry[/name_u] was one of the first ‘new’ names I obsessed over a few years ago – I still like it today! Feels calm, but with a spunky edge. Does sound a lot like [name_f]Audrey[/name_f], but not in an unusable way imo.
[name_f]My[/name_f] first association is the country singer [name_u]Gene[/name_u] [name_u]Autry[/name_u]!
I kind of love that about it! My great grandpa had a lot of his records.
I want to like this name, but I find it awkward to say like I’m trying too hard to pronounce it clearly. I’m Canadian, I’m not sure if that makes a difference with the accent or not.
