What do you berries think about the name [name]Ava[/name]? Does the popularity scare you off? [name]Do[/name] you think it’s getting more or less popular? My daughter’s name is [name]Emory[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name]… do you think the two go? We’re considering [name]Ava[/name] [name]Katherine[/name]. Thanks in advance!
I have always like the sound of [name]Ava[/name] and the briskness of it. That said, it is EXTREMELY popular. I can think of 5 Avas under 4 off the top of my head. While I do like the name, that is much too popular for me to ever consider. I guess you just have to decide if it is THE name, and you love it enough to not regret it when you run into other little Avas on a fairly regular basis. I do think [name]Ava[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] is a very pretty name (this is actually the name of one of the Avas I know), and [name]Emory[/name] and [name]Ava[/name] go well together. At least when you are choosing a name that is already uber popular, you know what you are getting into. I some ways that’s better than choosing a name for it’s relative obscurity, only to have it rocket up the charts a year later…
I think it’s a lovely name…but yes, the popularity would keep me from using it. I had a top 5 name in my generation, and grew tired of being forced to use my last name on everything since 4th grade.
[name]Ava[/name] [name]Katherine[/name] is a gorgeous name! And it goes very well with [name]Emory[/name]! It’s unfortunate that [name]Ava[/name] is so popular though. But I think that if you love the name you should just go with it, popularity aside.
Some other possibilities close/similar to [name]Ava[/name] could work like:
[name]Ada[/name] [name]Katherine[/name]
[name]Eva[/name] [name]Katherine[/name]
[name]Eve[/name] [name]Katherine[/name]
[name]Avis[/name] [name]Katherine[/name]
[name]Aya[/name] [name]Katherine[/name]
I don’t know. But really, if you love [name]Ava[/name] then go for it!
Such a beautiful name. Popularity is so well deserved. If it bothers you it is everywhere, you might want to look further. If you love it enough to put up with all that goes with a Top Ten name, then do it. All your names (first and middle) are lovely together and classy in general.

I love [name]Ava[/name]. I’m not at all against using popular names. I really don’t care very much about it, because there are benefits to having a popular, easy to spell, easy to pronounce name. My name is none of those things (people on nameberry wouldn’t think it’s a terribly difficult name but the general population seems to feel differently) and when I was younger I wanted to be named something more common so it would be easier. So no, the popularity wouldn’t scare me. I do think it is getting more popular, though. I don’t think it goes terrifically with [name]Emory[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name], but it’s not horrible. If [name]Ava[/name] got a much more uncommon middle name, I think it would feel more balanced. You might like…

[name]Ava[/name] [name]Quinn[/name]
[name]Ava[/name] Zabel (Zabel is related to [name]Elizabeth[/name], which you could love or hate with [name]Emory[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name])
I don’t like [name]Ava[/name] at all, but I like [name]Eva[/name] better. [name]Ava[/name] is so dull after seeing it so many times (especially on celebrities’ kids).
It’s technically a pretty name. It’s probably just me, but it feels a tad bit over-glamorous due to my associating the name with [name]Ava[/name] [name]Gardner[/name]. I much prefer [name]Eva[/name]!
