Thoughts on Avonlea?

I know it’s not on this site but I’ve seen it elsewhere. Apparently it’s the setting from [name]Anne[/name] of [name]Green[/name] Gables. [name]How[/name] do you feel about it as a name? Pronounced [name]Ah[/name]-von-leigh, by the way.

Pretty I went to school with an Avenlea:)

I would immediately think of the [name]Anne[/name] of Avonlea reference. That’s not necessarily bad, but it’s a bit strange. I might assume the parents were obsessed with all things “[name]Anne[/name] of [name]Green[/name] Gables”. I think a better choice might be [name]Avalon[/name] (although then you get all of the [name]King[/name] [name]Arthur[/name] references).

It’s a little odd… I think it looks made up
I also think it would be mispronounced often
I do think that [name]Avon[/name] and [name]Avalon[/name] are pretty choices
Here are a few suggestions you might like:
[name]Arden[/name]
[name]Avalyn[/name]
[name]Aylin[/name]
[name]Aveen[/name]
[name]Audrin[/name]

I like it. I do associate it with [name]Anne[/name] of [name]Green[/name] Gables, but I think it’s a nice, literary reference.

I definitely associate the name with the literary series of [name]Anne[/name] of [name]Green[/name] Gables. I was a huge fan…
hmm… as a name not too sure…I think that I would prefer [name]Avalon[/name]…

its fine.

being a HUGE road to avonlea fan, thats all i would think of! my favourite names stem from this very show! i love 1900’s names.
avonlea is a beautiful name, but because i love this show thats all i think of…
what about just ‘lea’!
i love leigh (lee…etc)

[name]Avalon[/name] is also a NJ beach and a Toyota, if those mean anything to the original poster.

I mostly think of [name]Anne[/name] of [name]Green[/name] Gables. I believe one of the sequels was even called [name]Anne[/name] of Avonlea.

It sounds like a guesthouse or a bed and breakfast in the country.

[name]Love[/name] [name]Avon[/name] though, shame about the cosmetic connection though.

Avonlea is beautiful and romantic. I think it is a really sweet name with beautiful associations.

i immediately thought of [name]Anne[/name] of [name]Green[/name] Gables, but i do like it. It’s really pretty. I have a cousin called [name]Avalon[/name] (Av-ah-lon), nn [name]Ava[/name].
