I really like the name Azra for a girl in the future
do you think it’s useable?
Would you choose this name?
Or if not could you provide a reason?
What would you think if you heared this name?
My first impression when hearing this name is: is it a girl or a boy, and did she just say ‘[name_m]Ezra[/name_m]?’ I think I would need to see it to know its Azra (which can depend on where you live and regional accents). But its unique and you could have some great fun with a middle name!
I think it’s usable. It has an interesting sound! [name_f]Azaria[/name_f] might also appeal to you
“Honestly…horrific.” Sorry, I’ve been watching too much American Idol.
I think it has a really Slavic vibe (nothing wrong with that)
It’s absolutely usable in my opinion
I definitely think it’s usable. I do agree with court4short that I think it would likely get misheard as [name_m]Ezra[/name_m], at least occasionally, though. I think it has a very pretty sound but I wouldn’t personally use it, it’s just not my style. I like greyblue’s suggestion of [name_f]Azaria[/name_f] too but I think I prefer Azra becuase [name_f]Azaria[/name_f] reminds me of the store Aritzia.
Super usable! It contains many popular sounds, and I think the “A” at the beginning makes it seem more feminine. One caution: I do think that it would get misinterpreted as [name_m]Ezra[/name_m].
I agree that it might be misheard as [name_m]Ezra[/name_m], but I think it’s usable! It has a very sweet and current sound. [name_f]Azaria[/name_f] nn Azra is very pretty too, but Azra is lovely on its own.
As others have said, I read it and thought of [name_m]Ezra[/name_m], so thought male. That said, it does sound like a pretty name. [name_f]Azaria[/name_f] looks and sounds a bit more feminine, and could be shortened to Azra if used as a first name, or Azra could be used as a middle
[name_u]Love[/name_u] Azra! I would use it.
I thought it was more likely going to be a boys name when I read the title, although I did wonder.
I would just prefer [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] (love it on a boy, usable on a girl, although on a girl I like it spelt [name_m]Esra[/name_m] until I realise what it spells backwards.)
Thank you all for the replies after reflecting I think that it might get so easily confused for the masculine [name_m]Ezra[/name_m]. Which is lovely so I might consider Azad for a boy but have gone off of Azra for a first name, perhaps a middle. [name_u]Future[/name_u] will tell.
