Thoughts on Azure

Loving [name]Azure[/name] at the moment and am looking for some opinions. Does it go with my DD’s name [name]Calla[/name]? Is it too awkward to pronounce? I prn it ah-zhur, but think in Finland where we live they might prn it ah-zur-eh, but need to check with a local. Any Finns or Swedes on the board who can help with this?

My choice of middle names is definitely Lumi and maybe [name]Alba[/name], [name]Maeve[/name], Thistle or I might go something more exotic. Any suggestions with [name]Azure[/name] and Lumi. I want something evocative and beautiful, maybe hinting at [name]Scotland[/name] as [name]Azure[/name] and Lumi both suggest Finland to me and I’d like to honour our Scottish heritage as well.

My DS1’s name also starts with an A, not sure if it bothers me. Not so worried about [name]Azure[/name] matching the boys’ names as they match each other.

What do you think of [name]Azure[/name]? Thanks in advance.

I think [name]Azure[/name] is beautiful, but it’s all warmth and [name]Italy[/name] to me! I don’t think you should use a word with it though.

Suggestions:
[name]Azure[/name] [name]Ailsa[/name]
[name]Azure[/name] [name]Iona[/name]
[name]Azure[/name] Eilean
[name]Azure[/name] [name]Linn[/name]

It feels very warm and spicy to me as a sound, but the meaning ‘blue sky/sky blue’ definitely fits in better with Finland that [name]Scotland[/name]. [name]One[/name] of my DD’s middle name is [name]Rain[/name], so I like the connection of another word name, but it’s not necessary.

Those names are very Scottish, but I know lots of people with those names.

I love [name]Azura[/name] more, because it’s less word-name, but [name]Azure[/name] is still very pretty. You can even get [name]Zuzu[/name] as a cute nickname. I think [name]Azura[/name] goes with [name]Calla[/name] better, but maybe that’s just me. I don’t think of a specific country when I hear either name.

I go back and forth with this name- I think it’s so so with the English [name]AH[/name]-zhur pronunciation, and gorgeous with the French a-ZYUR. [name]Both[/name] are kind of hard for me to say, though. But I still think it’s very nice.

Hang on, are you doing two middles? [name]Azure[/name] Lumi something?

Names from Scottish fairy tales:
[name]Nessa[/name]
Selkie
Finvola (Irish really, but there’s a certain amount of overlapping between Scottish and Irish fairy tales)
[name]Silver[/name]
[name]Isobel[/name]

Sorry, yes, 2 middles, [name]Azure[/name] Lumi something or [name]Azure[/name] something Lumi, whatever works best.

Not as keen on [name]Azura[/name], it makes me want to say it the Italian way which I don’t think is as pretty, and with C’s name ending A I’d like something different. I think the French prn would confuse matters here.

I like [name]Nessa[/name] and Selkie, but not sure if I like them enough to use them. [name]Tamsin[/name] is from a Scottish story and both DP and I like, so will consider that.

[name]Tamsin[/name] is gorgeous!

What about [name]Roslin[/name] or Rosslyn? [name]Azure[/name] [name]Roslin[/name] Lumi or [name]Azure[/name] Lumi [name]Roslin[/name].
