Thoughts on baby name Winter?

This baby will be born in the [name_f]Spring[/name_f] not in [name_u]Winter[/name_u], so would that be weird?
To be a baby sister to [name_f]Willow[/name_f], to matchy matchy with both being ‘W’?
Thoughts please xo

I think it’s a bit matchy, and I would expect [name_u]Winter[/name_u] to be born in [name_u]Winter[/name_u].

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]April[/name_f]/[name_f]May[/name_f]/[name_u]June[/name_u] for a [name_f]Spring[/name_f] baby? I really like [name_f]Willow[/name_f] and [name_f]May[/name_f] together.

Other combos that I like…
[name_f]Willow[/name_f] and [name_u]Piper[/name_u]
[name_f]Willow[/name_f] and [name_f]Zoe[/name_f]
[name_f]Willow[/name_f] and [name_u]Raven[/name_u]
[name_f]Willow[/name_f] and [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Willow[/name_f] and [name_f]Zara[/name_f]

Not sure if this will help or not, but my name is [name_f]Summer[/name_f], and yes, I was born in [name_u]July[/name_u]. I get asked that probably 70% of the time when anyone hears my name and I am 37 years old now. I think [name_u]Winter[/name_u] is beautiful, I knew a girl named [name_u]Wynter[/name_u]. [name_m]Just[/name_m] know that her entire life she will have to answer, no I was born in the spring, which will lead to- why did your mother/parents name you that? She can simply answer, my parents loved it and be done, or lie and say she was born in winter.

I wouldn’t use [name_u]Winter[/name_u], for exactly the reasons you are worried about - two W names, and a especially two W nature names, will be hard to follow, and it would be a bit weird to be named [name_u]Winter[/name_u] but have a springtime birthday. If it were me, it would bother me to no end.

For years I have had the combination [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] on my list, and if dh even in the slightest bit liked it, (which, of course, he doesn’t) I’d use it in a heartbeat matter what season my baby was born in. I don’t really see that as an issue. Are all little girls with the middle name [name_f]May[/name_f] born on [name_f]Summer[/name_f]? Probably not. All little girls with the name [name_f]Autumn[/name_f] born in the fall? I like to think not. So, to me, it is perfectly fine for a spring baby. And where do you live? Is it still cold in [name_f]Spring[/name_f]? Still snow on the ground? If it feels like [name_u]Winter[/name_u], its [name_u]Winter[/name_u] lol.

As for [name_u]Winter[/name_u] and [name_f]Willow[/name_f], I love matchy sib-sets. I would just keep in mind, you’re headed to a nature theme that you might have to keep going with baby number three.

Other nature-y names I like:
[name_f]Daphne[/name_f]
[name_u]Sage[/name_u]
[name_f]Rosalie[/name_f]
[name_f]Primrose[/name_f]
[name_f]Ivy[/name_f]
[name_f]Cassia[/name_f]
[name_f]Acacia[/name_f]
[name_f]Dahlia[/name_f]
[name_f]Stormy[/name_f]
[name_f]Twyla[/name_f]
[name_u]River[/name_u]
[name_u]Wren[/name_u]

I quite like [name_f]Willow[/name_f] and [name_u]Wren[/name_u] together too but that does keep the W’s going.

I’m not a fan of [name_u]Winter[/name_u]. There are so many names to choose from that would cause less hassle. What about: [name_f]Alana[/name_f], [name_f]Bridie[/name_f], [name_u]Sage[/name_u], [name_f]Amber[/name_f], [name_f]Rachel[/name_f], [name_f]Eva[/name_f], [name_f]Linnea[/name_f], [name_f]Lucia[/name_f], [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f], [name_f]Rosalin[/name_f] or [name_f]Ebony[/name_f] ?

I love the name and even like the W connection, but might be strange as she is to be born in spring. I like [name_u]Wren[/name_u] to fit with the nature theme.

[name_u]Wren[/name_u] and [name_f]Willow[/name_f]

I love the sound of [name_u]Winter[/name_u] and [name_f]Willow[/name_f] together; I think it sounds beautiful. But I also have both of those names on my list. haha

If I have a girl she will be [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f] [name_u]Winter[/name_u], so I [name_u]LOVE[/name_u] it  BUT she is due in February. What about [name_u]Wren[/name_u]? [name_f]Willow[/name_f] and [name_u]Wren[/name_u] are super cute and [name_u]Wren[/name_u] has more of an ‘R’ sound than a ‘W’ so it could work

I love [name_u]Winter[/name_u]! It’s one of my favorite names, and it’s my second favorite season! [name_u]Winter[/name_u] is such a magical season, and it would make a beautiful name.

I don’t think it’d be weird to name her [name_u]Winter[/name_u] at all. If I met a [name_u]Winter[/name_u], I wouldn’t automatically assume that she was born in the winter. I’d assume that her parents really loved the season. [name_f]Willow[/name_f] and [name_u]Winter[/name_u] is a little matchy, but it’s not too over the top. I actually really like them together. If you really want to use [name_u]Winter[/name_u], I say go for it!

I’m biased by my hatred of the winter season, so I don’t like [name_u]Winter[/name_u] as a name, myself. That said, it doesn’t bother me that a theoretical girl named [name_u]Winter[/name_u] would be born in the spring - I know an [name_f]April[/name_f] who was born in [name_u]December[/name_u], and I never thought it was a big deal, just that her parents liked the name. Heck, if I was committed enough to the name [name_f]Summer[/name_f], I’d use it on a baby born in the winter.

I can’t decide whether [name_f]Willow[/name_f] and [name_u]Winter[/name_u] feel too matchy (I love [name_f]Willow[/name_f], by the way). To me they don’t sound disastrously similar - like, you wouldn’t yell one across the playground and have it be unclear who you were yelling to - it’s just that W is a fairly uncommon initial so they’d stand out a little bit more. No one would bat an eye at, say, [name_f]Hayley[/name_f] and [name_u]Harper[/name_u] or [name_f]Ava[/name_f] and [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]. I like the idea of [name_f]Winnie[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_u]Winter[/name_u].

I have a strong association with the dolphin

For the reasons you listed - too matchy and her being born in [name_f]Spring[/name_f] I’d pass.
