Thoughts on Barnaby?

We want a classic, strong name for a boy but with an antique, charming twist. Is [name]Barnaby[/name] too much – too clownish or out there? I would likely use a nickname like [name]Barns[/name] as well.

[name]Hi[/name]! I admit that when I first heard [name]Barnaby[/name], I thought it was too out there, but as I’ve seen it more and more, it’s really grown own me! I love its vintage feel, and I think it’s a really charming name. I love [name]Barnaby[/name] now! (You may also like the [name]Abe[/name] nickname…)

Some more names you may like:

[name]Clarence[/name] (nn [name]Clancy[/name])

Good luck!

[name]Love[/name] [name]Barnaby[/name]. [name]Jill[/name]'s idea of the [name]Abe[/name] nn makes me love [name]Barnaby[/name] even more!

Thanks, [name]Susan[/name]! I first heard it when a poster considered the nickname for her son! The [name]Abe[/name] nickname is what made me start liking [name]Barnaby[/name], too! You helped me love [name]Veronica[/name] with the [name]Vera[/name] nickname!

[name]Morning[/name] All
Oh how i love the name [name]Barnaby[/name]! [name]Adore[/name] the nn [name]Barny[/name] and another posters suggestion of the nn [name]Abe[/name] is another brillient suggestion! I can see an adult talking the nn [name]Abe[/name]

I love [name]Barnaby[/name]! It’s a gorgeous name. And I adore the nickname [name]Barney[/name]!

I sort of like [name]Barnaby[/name], but I’m a little wishy-washy on it. For some reason, when I say it, I get a strong “baby” sound. Strange. The [name]Abe[/name] nickname is cute, but it reminds me of [name]Abe[/name] [name]Lincoln[/name]; the [name]Barny[/name] nickname is cute, but it reminds me of [name]Barney[/name] the Dinosaur; the [name]Barns[/name] nickname is cute, but it reminds me of, well, barns.

[name]How[/name] about [name]Abram[/name] or [name]Henry[/name] instead? Or you could use [name]Barnaby[/name] as a middle name.

I actually quite like [name]Barnaby[/name]! Definitely a classic worth reviving!
