Thoughts on Beatrice?

I am considering the name [name]Beatrice[/name] for my daughter, due in a couple weeks. I think I may be over analyzing, but at one point i looked at the name and it just stood out as [name]Beat[/name] [name]Rice[/name], the two separate words. That would absolutely drive me crazy if anyone ever called her [name]Beat[/name]-rice.

Does anyone else see this as a problem?

Who knows what kids will find to make fun of. It’s not as obvious as something like [name]Astrid[/name]!
I say [name]Bee[/name]-uh-triss so there’s no beat or rice in the way it sounds at least.

All in all I thi.nk it’s lovely

I’ve heard very old people who were English second language turn [name]Beatrice[/name] to bee-triss, 2 syllables, but never [name]Beat[/name] [name]Rice[/name]. And it’s not really an unknown sort of name in most [name]Romance[/name] languages.

I would say every name could get mangled accidentally or intentionally messed up, but [name]Beatrice[/name] doesn’t seem more vulnerable to it than many other names?
