Hey!
I came across the name Blanes for a little boy recently and been stuck on it since…what are your thoughts on the name/ first associations ?

Hmmm, not sure. I like the Bl sound, the idea of Lane/Rain/Reign and plural names in fashion (eg Brooks) but I think this might be a little too flat for me - sounding I mean, and it could be too close to “bland”.
Sounds like someone congested trying talk about multiple airplanes. Pronounced BLA-nəs, it’s a town in Catalonia.
I think of chillblains, unfortunately.
this was my thought too sadly
It sounds like a plural of [name_u]Blane[/name_u]. “My child has 3 students named [name_u]Blane[/name_u] in his class. Why are there so many Blanes?”
I have to agree with @marysia, it sounds like someone with a stuffy nose trying to say “planes”. [name_m]Just[/name_m] [name_u]Blaine[/name_u] is sweet though!
Ok I’m convinced now haha:joy: probably not a name for a baby! Maybe I’ll use it for a pet or something in the future thanks for the honest opinions though!
Sounds too plural.
I prefer ‘just’ [name_u]Blaine[/name_u]. Blanes sounds like the plural of [name_u]Blaine[/name_u] when said aloud, to me!
