[name_m]Bower[/name_m] was in a recent blog post and caught my eye. What do you think? What names would you pair it with? I think I’d be more likely to use it as a middle but I don’t know.
I really like it. [name_m]Bower[/name_m] feels masculine, unique but not weird and falls into the surname category that I like. I would avoid a heavy R sound in a pairing.
[name_m]Bower[/name_m] [name_u]James[/name_u]
[name_m]Bower[/name_m] [name_m]Theodore[/name_m]
[name_m]Bower[/name_m] [name_u]August[/name_u]
[name_m]Bower[/name_m] [name_m]Andrew[/name_m]
[name_m]Bower[/name_m] [name_m]Geoffrey[/name_m]
[name_m]Bower[/name_m] [name_m]Warren[/name_m]
I prefer [name_m]Bowen[/name_m] or just [name_m]Bowie[/name_m]. [name_m]Bower[/name_m] sounds kinda weird to me, like a word to describe someone who bows?
I like the previous poster’s suggestions of fairly classic names, they work well with something as modern and out-there as [name_m]Bower[/name_m].
[name_m]Bower[/name_m] [name_m]Atticus[/name_m]
[name_m]Bower[/name_m] [name_m]Calvin[/name_m]
[name_m]Bower[/name_m] [name_m]Desmond[/name_m]
[name_m]Bower[/name_m] [name_u]Elliot[/name_u]
[name_m]Bower[/name_m] [name_m]Edmund[/name_m]
[name_m]Bower[/name_m] [name_m]George[/name_m]
[name_m]Bower[/name_m] [name_m]Maximilian[/name_m]
[name_m]Bower[/name_m] [name_m]Phillip[/name_m]
[name_m]Bower[/name_m] [name_u]Sullivan[/name_u]
[name_m]Bower[/name_m] [name_m]Walter[/name_m]
[name_m]Bower[/name_m] [name_m]Xander[/name_m]
[name_m]Bower[/name_m] is not a name I’ve ever heard, but I think I like it. I could see it on a little boy, teenager, and adult. It’s definitely unique and has a nice meaning. I agree with a previous poster that more classic or traditional middles names would give a good balance. I like the suggestion of [name_u]James[/name_u].
[name_m]Bower[/name_m] [name_u]Elliott[/name_u]
[name_m]Bower[/name_m] [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]
[name_m]Bower[/name_m] [name_u]Jude[/name_u]
[name_m]Bower[/name_m] [name_u]Lee[/name_u]
[name_m]Bower[/name_m] [name_m]Lewis[/name_m]
[name_m]Bower[/name_m] [name_m]Anthony[/name_m]
[name_m]Bower[/name_m] [name_m]Nicholas[/name_m]
[name_m]Bower[/name_m] [name_m]William[/name_m]
I agree that [name_m]Bowen[/name_m] has a nicer sound, I find [name_m]Bower[/name_m] a little awkward to say unfortunately. And my eyes see it as “bowler”. But it’s definitely not an awful name.
For middle names, I would stay away from anything too vowel heavy.
Jumping in to add that you could spell it [name_m]Bauer[/name_m]. Personally to me [name_m]Bauer[/name_m] looks a bit more like a first name than [name_m]Bower[/name_m]. I like the suggestion of using a classic name with it.
I support the pp’s suggestion of the alternative (spelling) [name_m]Bauer[/name_m]. I do prefer how [name_m]Bauer[/name_m] looks, less awkward and less potential for pronunciation issues, [name_f]IMO[/name_f]. I am unfamiliar with [name_m]Bower[/name_m], but I assume it is pronounced the same as [name_m]Bauer[/name_m]?
I do think [name_m]Bower[/name_m]/[name_m]Bauer[/name_m] is a completely usable and handsome name. I have it on my own list for a potential middle name. I would pair up:
[name_u]Dakota[/name_u] [name_m]Bauer[/name_m]
[name_m]Fox[/name_m] [name_m]Bauer[/name_m]
[name_m]Hawthorne[/name_m] [name_m]Bauer[/name_m]
[name_m]Jett[/name_m] [name_m]Bauer[/name_m]
[name_m]Peregrine[/name_m] [name_m]Bauer[/name_m]
[name_u]Remington[/name_u] [name_m]Bauer[/name_m]
[name_u]Rio[/name_u] [name_m]Bauer[/name_m]
[name_u]Sky[/name_u] [name_m]Bauer[/name_m]
[name_u]Sterling[/name_u] [name_m]Bauer[/name_m]
[name_u]Sage[/name_u] [name_m]Bauer[/name_m]
