Boy’s names are proving much more difficult for my husband and I.
We have narrowed it down to one:
[name]Henry[/name] [name]Salinger[/name] —nickname [name]Sal[/name]
Last name starts with an S and is short.
Any thoughts or other ideas welcome!
Are you using the French pronunciation of [name]Henri[/name], or planning to pronounce it as the English “[name]Henry[/name]”? My only thought would be to spell it the way you want people to say it, whichever that is.
Otherwise, it’s a lovely name!
Good point! I just the think the i ending is cuter, but I want the English pronunciation.
I had a betta fish named [name]Henri[/name] and I gave it the English pronunciation. A friend from high school recently named his son [name]Henri[/name], and he uses the English pronunciation as well. Depending on where you live, I think most people will be more likely to pronounce it with the English pronunciation even if it is spelled the French way.
I guess if you’re a stickler for pronouncing ways the correct way, this could be a problem. I just don’t see it causing you too much trouble.
